How do they hold up soloing high level’s of Torghast reason asking is I’ve been pure druid only and was curious of leveling one up and was wondering how they did on higher levels.
Pretty decent. Pet damage boosts along with bonuses from hunter’s mark and damage reduction from misdirect.
I’m super curious too there has to be some really fancy powers for the pet not to get one shot. Misdirection only last for so long and has a cooldown and that was the only power I recall? Maybe you’re using eyes of the beast or whatever it was lol.
there’s dmg reduction for mobs standing in trap. a hunter’s mark power that reduces the dmg the target can inflict. probably some more but I can’t think of them right now, but RNG is RNG and good luck getting it when you need it.
We hold up pretty well with the right powers. HP boosts are a must otherwise pets just start getting 1 shot. As for interesting powers, uuuh yeah not much. My fav so far gives target stunned by intimidation 100% crit rate with 100% crit damage for 6 seconds, otherwise there really isnt much in the way pet boosts, there is one that gives your pet a 500% damage increase when using eyes of the beast but i havnt tried that yet, i cant really see how it would helpful. Most of our powers are pretty uninteresting though +% boosts to certain skills and stats but they get the job done, so i wont complain they are boring, but they are.
With the other powers we get it is usually fine.
Try this. Has a lot of good stuff

At the end of the day a BM can have multiple hunter specific powers but the only one that comes to mind that actually changes gameplay is disengage dropping two traps. The rest are just numbers and conditions to meet to get your numbers.
For example you wont see a BM pull off a fire mage infinite juggle. You wont see a BM have zero cd aoe touch of death. You wont see a BM with anything like the DH aura of immolation pulling down 100M+ Damage.
Can it be done? Sure. Having said that of the “top” advised BM powers you have:
Sigil of Skoldus- Hunter Numbers
Soulforge Embers- Legendary duplicate
Sling of the Unseen- Kyrian Specific
Elethium Beacon- generic
Soulsteel Pinion- Hunter numbers
Lens of Elchaver- generic
If you want my 2 cents, you will likely have more enjoyment on your druid both with the numbers aspect as well as the druid “enjoyment” powers.
Don’t forget Bloodgorged Leech this thing is a lifesaver and if you get like 3-5 of these you can almost full heal yourself in less than a second sometimes and the fact most of the Elethium ones not just Beacon work for hunters with next to no downsides cause funnily enough our heal is % based and doesnt seem to change much when reduced, somehow ended up with 200% crit because of a weird run in Twisting Corridors, theres also whatever that one with Misdirection causes target to take 90% less damage is great in layer 8.
yep, and it pairs wonderfully with the one that increases the misdirect target s damage by 50/100%
Theres also the fact Killshot damage is a common one too, even before it got buffed to 100% damage the 50% damage it use to give was insane, get a few as Venthyr and you can murder everything, combine with Soulsteel Piston and you can basically 2-3 shot a boss.
Funny part is, if you leveled the rep with that broker and gotten the extra stuff you turn godlike in some runs.
So what us hunters want to do is focus on keeping mobs still as layer floor 16 plus everything 1 shots you so tar trap radius and snare slow increase is best with binding shot then just keep mobs/bosses perma rooted while you kill them. Damage effects are kinda useless honestly as we have kill shot having a 25% chance to insta kill so its all about keeping things standing still and spamming that
hunters of all specs get fairly meh anima powers; it’s not going to be exceptionally easy nor exceptionally tough.
beast mastery pets scale with your health, so stacking the 15% health boost oblerons with the mawrat kill +health anima power is the main way they stay alive (also the misdirect anima power mentioned).
clefthoof is the preferred beastmastery pet for torghast
Overall it’s pretty easy as a BM. I have no idea what folks are talking about getting “one shot”. Has never happened to me or my pet. The most trouble I’ve had is with ‘Maw of the Maw’ on level 18 of twisting corridors, but that boss seems to be an issue for everyone.
As for pets, I use and recommend a gorm. They have a passive 33% physical damage reduction and a special skill that reduces all damage by another 50%, then the tenacity pet ability that reduces damage by another 20%. In addition to that they can add another 7% hp to you and it.
