I’m trying to make a macro to cast beacon of light on the raidboss’ target. It’s casting it on me.
/cast [@targettarget,harm,nodead] [ ] Beacon of Light

You need help instead of harm here.
I think it makes more sense to check if you have a friendly target first.
#showtooltip Beacon of Light
/cast [help, nodead][@targettarget, help, nodead] Beacon of Light
You can also do @boss1target
#showtooltip
/cast [@boss1target,help,nodead] [] Beacon of Light
Just to be sure I understand.
[help, nodead] means that if I’m targeting someone that’s friendly, and not dead. To cast it on them.
[@targettarget, help, nodead] means that if whomever I have targeted, its target is friendly, to cast it on them?
Correct
If you have an @unit
then conditions like help and harm are evaluated for that unit.
