Be skeptical of TBC from your experience with Classic

You may or may not have great feedback for how Classic has been managed, but be wary if TBC is launched. Many in this community are subject to amnesia, but assume Blizzard takes the Classic path and launches with 2.4.3 state like they did in Classic with 1.12.1 state.

Note worthy changes which would dumb-down the difficulty experience would be as followed:

  • Haste changes; particularly for Spell Haste
  • Karazhan no longer requires a key to enter
  • Black Temple attunement was removed
  • Hyjal attunement was removed
  • Magtheridon’s Lair was nerfed
  • Kael’Thalas Sunstrider was nerfed

Players would be able to go from level 70 immediately into Hyjal, which we all know is a loot farm (until Archimonde) like Tempest Keep. Which in turn would further water down other raids for farming do to the power creep of gear.

And if you think fresh 70’s wouldn’t be able to accomplish that you may want to rethink what you don’t know about the current meta in 2020 and how the pserver meta has absolutely obliterated Classic.

We can only hope for content gating and for Blizzard to ignore the progressive patch notes. Even if they followed from 2.0 to 2.4.3, Hyjal still would more than likely be cleared in the first month.

Be cautious of what you wish for.

Nah, it’ll be fine.

I just like Outland a lot due to playing the Warcraft 2 expansion and I love the level 70 talent trees for the classes that I play.

Haste? Meh. That’s fine.
Attunements were way overdone, and there’s a damn good reason that they were removed. Now if they would also get rid of the rep requirements for heroic dungeons, that’d be great.
Kael’thas being nerfed meant that it literally went from ‘mathematically impossible’ to ‘tough fight’.

Why would I assume that? The biggest reason they went with 1.12 patch is because that is the oldest data they still had. From that point on they have every patch’s data backed up. There is no reason to believe they will implement TBC in the manner you suggest.

This all sounds great. Screw the gating.

I don’t fault an old game for it’s systems. It’s charming in it’s own way.

The TBC raid attunements were nuts! I loved them back then and I would be very sad if they were not included in Classic TBC. I’m hopeful blizzard will do the right thing. The tight thing is;

  1. Start with 2.4.3 class balance and gear itemization.

  2. Start with only Kara, Mags Lair, and Kazzak available, progress into SSC, Gruuls Lair, and TK, then BT and Hyjall and finally the Sunwell.

  3. Keep all raid and heroic dungeon attunements in their original 2.0 state.

Initial release at 2.4.3 would indeed be a bad thing and would be a watered-down TBC experience at best.

Which is why it’s so important for us to give our feedback that they should NOT do that. According to what they have said about having patch data, release at 2.0.1 should be an available option.

I’m basically fine with how classic has turned out so far. I would have preferred a progressive patch rollout as it was in vanilla, but I’m not mad at the static patch.

It doesn’t bother me if fresh 70s clear Kara. If people are enjoying the game, I’m glad. I wish more people could find peace with classic.

If Blizzard doesn’t want to roll out patches then the last patch before WotLK pre-patch is going to be what is implemented.

But maybe they will roll out patches but in a much shorter time frame based on how quickly people finished the content (as in classic for example). Probably not though.

The first two I wholeheartedly agree with. The third one can kindly frag right off.

Haha if you want a half way realistic representation of what TBC was like, you gotta have attunements. Not the honored gets you a heroic dungeon key kind of attunement either. The kind you gotta be revered for. Lol

There is no reason to go patch route if end game state is 2.4.3.
Gating content is fine, but recreating all the nerfs and buffs is stupid and will never happen.

Blizzard made mistakes will classic, but they aren’t likely to repeat them with the TBC. Despite what people like you think, they aren’t that stupid.

I care about the fact that they will let classic die on nax then release Shadowland and wait maybe a years for TBC

A YEARS QUOTE ME ON THAT .

The problems in Classic have never arisen from what Blizzard has done. They have, uniformly, arisen from what PLAYERS are doing. People are breaking the game for SPORT and taking the min/max playstyle that the last 10 years of gaming have fostered and applying it to a game created before that meta existed.

When your playerbase has a large faction within it that play for the expressed purpose of breaking the game open as wide as they can and exploiting whatever cracks in the design they can find, this isn’t just a likelihood to happen… it’s an absolute certainty.

We both know that blizzard is going to ship the most nerfed version, its what they do because they want the most numerous population of players involved in the content. I would love to have the harder more interesting versions of TBC raids and dungeons, but realistically that will never happen because of the raw volume of players who would never get past T5.

Idc how they go about attunements one way or another but here’s something food for thought.

How long have you been in your classic guild? How many people have you seen come and go?

Now think for a moment your guild’s in tbc farming bt and preparing for swp.

Every time someone gquits, gets kicked, stops playing, or just stops showing up. You have to go through the trouble of attuning all new recruits, unless of course they come attuned from another guild but that’s a different matter entirely.

Attunements are tedious to say the least, especially if you plan on raiding on more than one character.

And yes I’m well aware there are attunements in classic but they’re trivial when compared to tbc.

Go back to reddit. Bunch of people in this thread want every game turned into their mobile garbage. Its why none of the classic rereleased games will ever be good.
