Be Open to Changes

Look, I think that Classic should be remained as unchanged as possible also but some of you really need to take off your rose-tinted goggles because you guys are stubborn as hell. If minor updates would be objectively more fair and balanced for the game, you should be open to them. Take Old School Runescape for example, they started out with the base game but added a polling feature in game to ask the community to vote on potential updates. It has to pass a certain threshold to continue on with the update. I REALLY suggest Blizzard implement this system for Classic WoW also.

An example of the stubbornness: what exactly would be wrong with having a graphical old/modern toggle? It literally wouldn’t affect you or your gameplay.

In before no changes.

Seriously though. Changes happen. You can either live with it or go elsewhere. I loved vanilla for what it was. It was fun and exciting. TBC did a lot of good for the game. Class balance was one of those things. Does vanilla need it? Yes and by the truck loads. Will it happen? 9/10 chance it won’t but I’ll keep playing even with the terrible balance issues.

 or marshmellos anyone? OP about to get roasted.

No.

And I’m pretty sure the old/modern character model that was in retail caused crashing issues so that’s why it was removed.

So again, no.

…But who’s voice and wants have more weight than the next person? NoChanges (well, as much as possible) is even for all. All understands what it means, and nobody gets favored over others. Simple.

“Hey I want new models!”
“Ok, then I want LFG summoning stones”
“No you can’t have that, wasn’t in vanilla”
“New models weren’t either”
“Well, it is different!!”
“…Oh, how so?”
“Because I said so!”

Read what I said about in-game polling. It works really well for OSRS.

You aren’t here for Classic.

OP must be talking about “WoW2”

It works well, because it is one iteration of the game. Classic will be filled with people who all left or played during different iterations of the game. If you want a community splitter, that certainly fits the bill in my optics. OSRS is not WoW, not in game, nor in amount of people who play or has played. Different circumstances, yields different outcomes.

…and there it is. The search feature must be broken again…yeah, that must be it.

That would be a completely different game, perhaps a game called “Classic +” or something. This game is intended to be a re-creation, as authentic as is reasonably possible. That is per Blizzard.

We all read it. It’s just a terrible idea. Maybe it works for OSRS but it wouldn’t work for WoW.

Look at this survey right here

https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScIEaaMC91ZKe-7E0kbgtIDy-inWi9O5zPy5zE4ySRnteu_Lg/viewanalytics

This survey shows why this would never work and we would literally just turn classic WoW into some Frankenstein game where the majority of players will want to add crazy changes to vanilla because they think it would be cool essentially making classic completely different from what it was designed to be.

The MAJORITY of players wanted the AQ event repeatable. The MAJORITY of players wanted the arena system implemented. The MAJORITY of players wanted Blizzard to provide additional incentives for world PvP beyond what was in vanilla. The MAJORITY of players would like to see all inaccessible zones on Azeroth and Eastern Kingdoms become accessible zones. The MAJORITY of players wanted guild banks and increased bank sizes. The MAJORITY of players wanted lesser respec costs. The MAJORITY of players wanted new raids like kara, uldum, ect.

Terrible idea as the retail community would be able to vote on these polls when they prefer the newer play-style to vanillas and we would eventually go back to the junk we have today like xmog, lfg, dual spec.

1 Post, asking for changes. This will go well…

Classic is a re-release of a game, not a brand new vision of a game.

It is one thing to accept changes that BLIZZARD has made a decision on and seems firm on their decision. It is a whole other things, and not rose-tinted goggles, to want WOW Classic to be authentic to vanilla WOW.

Try looking up the fuller story. It wasn’t all starlight and rainbows and happy players.

Have you ever tried searching General Discussion both on these newer forums and the last couple forums and seeing how many threads were people complaining about new graphics when Blizzard changed them, or the uproar because Blizzard HAD put a toggle, then broke it, then broke it some more?

By the way, who is more stubborn - the people who want vanilla WOW and are getting it and are delighted that Blizzard has mostly followed the authenticity line, or the people who post on alts with “1 post” to repeat the same examples of non-vanilla requests over and over and over?

Blizzard knows the Battle.Net account and ALL the alts, so it doesn’t turn the numbers asking for OSRS-style WOW Classic or graphics toggle into a majority. (And, seriously, if I started alt-hopping to start threads on all my characters bashing the people who think “minor updates” are better than authenticity, would you be any more likely to listen?)
