How hard is it to play resto druid? (I’m a pretty bad outside of dps but I’m so bored). I’ve always been “Scared” to heal because of that responsibility of screwing a group over, but resto druid seems like such a fun healer to play compared to the others. Thoughts?

Resto druid is the healer I play when I don’t want to use my brain at all.

Let the heals do the job lol.
I enjoy it. I use Healbot (there are other add-ons, or you can just key bind).
For me, healing is less stressful than tanking or melee. I HoT everyone up, keep an eye on who’s taking more damage, and throw in Dots and other DPS spells when I can. Something comes at me, I typhoon it toward the tank, or run to the tank myself.
I don’t do mythic though, so it might be more stressful with harder content.
Resto druid is probably the easier of them healers tbh

That’s the type of healer I want to play lol. It just seems “scary” being more proactive instead of a reactive approach.
I would say resto druid can be easy to play decently. Mobility and heal over time can do wonders. Target swapping and heal spam and spot healing is ok. Raid healing is where they shine.
Other classes do dedicated Main Tank healing better. Other classes are better at small group healing. But Resto Druids have good range an mobility for raid healing and general healing. They do the job.
Shifting out of roots is something that can help you move around better.

It depends on what content you do but average heroic dungeons, time walking dungeons, I’ve healed as resto for just that very reason and it was OK.
Just let them know you are new to healing and maybe work your way up unless you are playing with some friends or w.e. Healing always kept me worried but at some point I just stop caring and the rest of the times I just stay as a DPS role because of what you mentioned.

I’d rather skip all the future hate I’d get for messing up.
I don’t think rdruid is easy to play optimally but it’s less stressful than 5 of the other healers imo.
I’ve played every healer and Resto is definitely on the easier side, it has low skill floor but a high skill ceiling so there’s a ton of room to grow but it’s very easy to master the essentials.
Resto druid can do just fine played reactively, and needing to be proactive doesn’t really start to matter until you start pushing to quite high level content.
It’s easy to play … okay, but hard to play well, IMO. Unless you’re just raiding in which case the hardest part is mana management because you can OOM fast making green explode all oved your screen.
