Be honest did Sylvanas ever really do anything wrong?

There was a good plan with Sylvanas, but 6 months before shadowlands the main writer got fired. So they HORRIBLY rewrote shadowlands, ruined Sylvanas and retconned all the lore into oblivion.

This game has sucked post frat boy removal.

Woooow. Savage.

Though it is ironic that the blood elves were responsible for the Exodar crash, and a high elf is largely responsible for the tree’s burning. I guess the alliance likes to keep our debris localized in that region.

Who cares about the night elves? Sylvanas didn’t do the burning. It was fake news spread by the debuff Elves.

She didnt say dead when Arthas took her wretched life

We were forced to deal with that banshee when Azeroth would have been a better place if Arthas never raised her

even if sylvanas didnt order the burning i would have. in hillsbrad foothills we mass nuked every single alliance base with goblin pocket nukes and i helped bomb a GIANT night elf druid training tree leaving nothing but a crater. i dont think she didnt go hard enough im surprised she didnt just have some sunwell made manabombs placed in key locations in stormwind by the darkrangers whos stealth abilities surpass even the top alliance SI:7

I have no feedback, but I do know I’ve wanted her dead since BFA
When she didn’t die in Sanctum it royally upset me.

im all for the war aspect in wow. the war campaign was good for the first patch its in the 2nd with the civil war that happened that the story went completely off the rails many of the characters were not acting how they always had in the lore previously and are suprised about things they knew about before acting as if they didnt. and the whole oldgod thing came out of no where

Alliance: “-No, dont burn nelf, they have children with them!”

Virgin Sylvana’s Apologist: “Writes novel sized wall text trying to justify her actions.”

Chad Sylvana’s Loyalist: " -Yes, they are next."

No bigger crime than being a dragon who can only soar

She got what she deserved.

i think this might also be behind why wow is so dead/dying at the moment. for 15+ years we had investment in major lore characters and then between legion and bfa they were either killed off or written into the ground so poorly you wish they were killed off.

there is no story investment left in the game, no characters left for us to really care about, without story, wow is just a boring mmo with a collection of mini-games. none of which are really any good compared to their single player counterparts.

That is your own heavily subjective opinion.

orly?

open world questing vs skyrim, skyrim wins (it came out in 2011)
arena vs armored core, armored core wins.
pet battles vs pokemon, pokemon wins.
transmog competition vs playing dress up with the cute guy/girl next door, you get the idea

even when wow was friesh and brand new, its graphics and gameplay were dated and generally bad, the carrying factor of MMOs has generally always been the idea of a persistent online world you can join, not it being a particularly well polished game

even if we don’t look at wow and just look at blizzard, diablo 4 vs baulders gate 3.
hearthstone vs magic the gathering, and heroes of the storm vs dota and LoL.

i realize Metzen eventually has to move on in life, but it has been a long time since we have debated if Green Jesus and Jaina Proudmore are secretly a thing, when is the last time the playerbase speculated like that?

I realize the hype for original WoW all started with the WC games. I did not play them at the time so I was not a part of that hype (which may be why I feel the way I do about Post-WoD character development) however I feel the complete opposite of your second statement in your original post. One of the fav questlines was the Bain Bloodhoof questline from Valdrakken for starters - lots to care about still, for me. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts: Tyr is pretty awesome too and It was cool to see his back story, Alexstrasza is the new wifey. I can go on.

It’s a fact she is a saint for the Horde.

There was that one time she made a bunch of charcoal. That was pretty bad.

This might be an unpopular opinion, but I’d really want to see what Alex Afrasiabi‘s original story and plans were.

While it wasn’t ideal for Sylvanas to go full villain in BfA I still think there were interesting directions they could have taken her character. In my opinion, though, things really went down the drain in Shadowlands…

the games called world of WARcraft. We’re at war little halfling.

Even in war there are things you don’t do. Biological weapons and killing innocents are 2 of them. Both of which Sylvanas has done
