And they might cause they did so with elder scrolls online

Should this happen to WoW, they’ll gatekeep the actual awesome traders post rewards, or show a tier that says “look what you could get if you pay the Xbox game pass AND our WoW+ sub”

I can see them add similar changes to wow should Microsoft give WoW game pass

Hopefully this doesn’t happen, but we know it may just be coming

The reason Zenimax did all of that with ESO is because it failed as a subscription-based MMO.

It will happen. And they will do it by using their core demographic displacing the old legacy demographic of WoW.

Don’t be surprised when it happens either.

ESO did all thos sub benefits long before Bethesda was bought by microsoft. Heck eso isnt even on PC gamepass.

Will blizzard do it too? Maybe. Who knows? But if they do i doubt it will be for gamepass.

I actually like that. It sounds promising AND Blizz won’t have to struggle as much. I see this as an absolute win.

This is because the PC gaming market is much smaller than the console gaming market. That’s why years ago Bethedsa started making console priority UIs which angered PC players but PC players are minority. Especially considering most PC players also play console games.

I could see WoW going in this direction over time. One piece at a time of course.

If thats what you see then you need some glasses and less copium. Wow just wouldnt work on a console.

The one we have today yes.

Someone long ago would say TES or Fallout wouldn’t work on console. Then FO4 and Skyrim happened.

They absolutely will make the product more compatible on console and less functional on PC. Because the larger demographic is on console.

The only thing I remotely fear is WoW going to consoles and having Xbox dweebs integrated. Pugging can already be very hit or miss and I can only imagine how bad that’ll get with console plebs gumming up the works.

Just wait when they dumb PvE down completely and all the mythic raiders are complaining it’s too easy, the controls are way too dumb, etc.

That is coming. But WoW will succeed financially regardless.

Until they annoy me directly, I couldnt care less if they add stuff to buy with real $$$, etc.

I absolutely LOVE FO4 on a controller.

But if they gut nexus modding I won’t even buy it. Nope.

ESO was doing all of this long before Microsoft acquired them.

ESO+ was a Bethesda thing, not a Microsoft mandate.

Microsoft is very hands-off with its studios.

They’re not going to touch WoW, for the most part, other than to give the dev team more resources.
