See, I am a fan of this for the simple reason that we, as players, make up not even 0.01% of our faction from a lore standpoint! We do not define our factions, our races, in any way.

I have always liked the idea of creating a character with his own path and story, maybe even being seen as “weird” for it by the NPC’s. Anyone remember TBC Draenei Shaman asking SW guards where the Shaman Trainer was and the response the guards gave them?

We are such a non-factor, as players, in representing our factions from a lore standpoint that I honestly believe that the race/class restrictions hold back more than they give at this point. If the barriers are broken down, stripped away, I think it would add much more for players (though I know traditionalists would disagree)

The biggest obstacle I see is the argument on Void Elves and the Light, which can be tackled in two ways. Either they are shadow knights instead of Paladins, replacing the light with the void, or they take the Forsaken Route (See Alonsus Faol in the book “Before the Storm”) in that it would cause great anguish.

At any rate, I am 100% on the side of allowing any race/class combos :wink:
