In short, a way to change factions but be the same race.

Oh boy, people already got their panties in a twist enough with cross faction play.
Personally I’d rather see a third faction arise before I can get behind faction swapping.
Honestly, if it was me, I’d start disasociating the players from the factions; Like the horde and the alliance are still a thing and if players want they can choose to stick to them but we as players are frankly beyond the petty squabbles of either faction; we have:
Like… We’ve well and truly eclipsed the factions so honestly we should just move past that time period.
It’s essentially the defection quest from Ever quest II that lets you change your main city of allegiance. I strongly support the idea. There’s a very real and long rich history of cultural defectors in the real world and a lot of our science fiction and fantasy that has the concept of races has this same concept of defectors and sympathizers.
We’ve gone to war together on the same side multiple times now. The only reason the horde and alliance exist as separate factions at this point is simply because PVP. But from a story perspective even with the bad blood at this point we’d likely see some cross faction pollination between them.
We already have cross race relationship. Cross faction is not even remotely that far fetched of an idea.
Although that is a slippery slope of addressing half races and if these races can procreate together or not all that jazz. But Alleria and her husband are one example of cross race relationships. I’m sure there are others.
Can I be a deflector? I think that would help me avoid all the arrows and whatnot when I walk into Org.

I mainly play alliance just because my king is here and stormwind is prettier than orgrimmar.
I would like to play either faction on any race as it opens up a lot of doors for rp.
But if it never happens… well i hope they make factions worth a damn again
I feel like adding or removing factions is unlikely to happen for technical reasons, if not lore or design. factionless would essentially be both factions so that might work but I feel like some races should always start as Horde/Alliance and have to defect later.
