As simple as the title. My battlenet messages are not being received by other players, but I can receive all of theirs without issue. Things I’ve done:
Reset my ui/deleted addons/wtf/cache folder etc things Blizzard suggests.
Restarted battlenet (made sure it closed completely) It generated a fix for one player but not much else and bugged out again immediately ingame the following day.
This is probably my 3rd time resetting my interface etc as it gets kind of old as a mythic raider to put stuff back. This problem started this week however and continues to persist while I try different things in search for a solution. This problem also includes people not being able to see my character name/location in game as you normally would. Example Spot[US-Spot] Mage- Oribos. Instead they see just my battlenet name and a general location. The invite button on the side is also greyed out since it won’t register me as alliance or horde either despite being horde.
I also insisted it might not be me, but its apparent that its likely on my side but what would cause such a thing?
Hi Kokage
Have you tried uninstall/reinstall of the Bnet itself.
Step 5 must be completed - delete the Battle.net folder
No I have not but will be my very next move. Much appreciated!
Let me know if that is the trick.
No unfortunately I went through addons and interface to check there. Majority of my bnet can see my whispers but 3 of them. I assume it might be them instead of me but its only for them now ingame. Also they can see each other’s bnet but cannot see mine when I send. I can see theirs however.
I’m thinking you might want to get a ticket open on this. Let’s try something else here first.
Close the game and Battle.net App.
Open these folder locations. Delete any Battle.net, Blizzard, and/or Blizzard Entertainment folders.
(Press Windows Key + R and type or copy/paste each of these lines in the Run box separately. Click “OK” afterwards.)
%LOCALAPPDATA%
%APPDATA%
%TEMP%
%PROGRAMDATA%
Afterwards right click on the Bnet Desktop icon the select “Run as Administrator”.
If that doesn’t work:
Contact Support - Blizzard Support (battle.net)
Before I replied last time I did all of that. Including deleting each of those. I believe it was in the link you provided previously? But I will try it again just to be sure
I really hope I can get it working for everyone.
That ultra clear out isn’t included in the support page. Only the ProgramData folder is cleared running those instructions.
I might have seen another post then else as this wasn’t my only stop. However it is working for all bnet friends except for one now. I can assume doing those steps fixed it for me but not for my friend. We even deleted and re-added each other. It would be up to him I guess at this point
Thank you for your help thus far.
Good to see we have an improvement. Thanks for reporting back.
