Battle.Net Launcher not working/ went to sleep !?

Saturday I tried to start the battle.net launcher and it’s not working. it comes up as Battle.net Update Agent went to sleep. Attempting to wake it up… BLZBNTBNA00000005

the problem is still on going here. I know it’s something to do with new Mac Ventura update but when is Blizzard going to fix this? I can play retail wow by launching in the folder ( little laggy) but I can’t play any other games.

How do you fix this ?

Same thing here, have not been able to play for 2 days on this computer.

Not sure what’s going on.

I’ve logged in/out, I’ve updated my system, and just a few minutes ago I finally caved and attempted to redownload the thing and it says instead of going to sleep: “We’re having trouble launching the Battle.net Update Agent/ Please wait one minute and try again.”

It just instructs me to restart my computer (which I’ve done several times), and reinstall the application (which doesn’t work).

It also appears to have now uninstalled wow whether I like it or not.

Guess I’ll take that as some sort of sign.

I feel you !

The Battle. net Launcher still does not work. it goes to sleep ! You can’t redownload it ! the best you can do for WOW is go into retail folder and start it there.

Can’t play any other games for Blizzard Entertainment on my MAC

How do you FIX this?

WHEN WILL THEY FIX THIS ?

What worked for me was to start the agent manually using spotlight (I just typed “agent” in there and selected the battle.net agent). Do this while battle.net is running and displaying the BLZBNTBNA00000005 error and it should instantly start working.

Didn’t see this before uninstalling the agent and reinstalling it. reinstall said that it couldn’t start the update agent, i just did this with all relevant battle net agents and it worked.

This drove me crazy for about a day. This thing definitely broke because of Ventura. Here is how I ended fixing it.

Step 1: Remove the battle[dot]net application. I actually changed the name to “Old[dot]Battle” but you can trash it as well.

Step 2: There is a folder Users[slash]Shared[slash]Battle[dot]net. Get rid of that (again I changed mine to Old[dot]Battle[dot]Net). This folder is where the above mentioned agent is. When I tried to start it manually it gave a corruption error.

Step 3: Download the latest version and reinstall.

These steps worked for me. Hopefully they work you!

This worked for me, thanks Bekkai.

Launcher is not working - when I run it I get Mac error “The World Of Warcraft Launcher cannot be opened”. Also, when I try to log in (as usual) with the World Of Warcraft icon it tells me that all servers are “Incompatable”. So, how am I to update the game after today’s patch?

I’m on a Mac mini running Ventura 13.4.1

Thanks for any & all info

Update: I restarted my Mac, and its starting a download now - hopefully that will set me straight :crossed_fingers:

I’ve been getting this the last week or so. I fix it pretty easily by manually starting the battle.net agent. then exit and restart the battle.net application.

However, it happens again pretty consistently.

I also wrestled with this for a couple of days, tried everything listed on the support site, including downloading a new cert. No help. Your post worked like a charm, though, thanks!!

I’m trying to log in 07/22/23 9am PST, and all servers are “incompatible”. So, thinking there might be an update I’m missing, I tried to run the launcher but get Mac error "The application “World of Warcraft launcher” can’t be opened. So, I checked for a patch? Nothing.

I’m running Ventura 13.4.1

Anyone else having this issue? Also, this is NOT the first time it’s happed in the past year. Makes me think it’s a Blizzard issue.

Thank you Bekkai, this was driving me mad.

This has been happening on both my Mac and PC, and I’m about ready to just uninstall this game completely. What a Joke of a launcher.
