After some time not playing WoW, I open the Battle.net desktop client (usually running bye hidden), and the client has trouble logging in. Occasionally, if I was ~ 60 seconds, it’s able to connect, but usually, it’s just crickets. On those occasions, I quit Battle.net and relaunch it. It in turn launches the small login window, which connects immediately.
Anyone else having this issue, or know what’s going on here?
Good evening fellow Mac user. First I would restart your modem and your Mac just to get a fresh IP and such. Second I would delete battle net and then reinstall it. I know that blizzard is pushing a new version of the battle.net client. I will do some more digging and research if the issue persists. Also can you give me the year and model of your Mac? Also the OS version. Happy gaming!!!
Thanks, and sorry for the late reply. 2020 iMac 27 (iMac20,2), macOS 11.2 (but was running 11.1 when I posted).
Sorry that I didn’t make it clear, but this behavior is with the new Battle.net desktop app (Version 9.0.2.37176).
I’m going to take a wild swing and say that I find it difficult to believe it has anything to do with my session with my ISP (Verizon FiOS), since, as I noted, if I quit Battle.net and restart it, the connection process succeeds in the blink of an eye.
Swing and hit. I’m willing to bet that an ISP or modem/router issue is likely at play here. Try this support article it has some good info. https://us.battle.net/support/en/article/7842
I am having the same issue.
I play on a 13" macbook pro (2015) running High Sierra (10.13.6).
Before the Bnet launcher update it worked fine; after the update if my laptop goes to sleep or I am away for a while I have to quit bnet and relaunch for it to reconnect.
Since the initial connection screen works but then it loses connection and will not reconnect until relaunch perhaps it is some kind of authentication issue…
I’ve been having this issue if my 2019 27” iMac goes to sleep and wakes up the next morning, but I don’t have the issue on my 2020 16” MacBook Pro. This only started occurring with the new launcher so I haven’t thought much about troubleshooting it until I saw this thread. I will need to quit the app and restart it to get out of the “connecting” phase every day. It doesn’t seem to occur if it goes to sleep for short periods, only long ones. I would have to do some additional testing as I realize the iMac has a setting which requires authentication every time I login to the app on that computer, but the laptop doesn’t. They are also on two different OS versions and will have to check the versions later as I’m on my phone now. I’m wondering if the authentication at every login to BN might be the hangup so I may try turning that off to see if it fixes it. (Not turning off authenticator altogether, just letting it remember my info on that computer since only I have access to it.)
I have had good luck with not letting my computer going to sleep and just using my Lock Screen. No disconnect or crashes.
Everyone,
There have been a host of issues with the new launcher. Please make sure to send feedback as well (the lightbulb icon on the launcher is for feedback).
You can report bugs, et al from this interface. The development team will absolutely get feedback from there, they may not see anything you comment in these forums as they are user to user forums not user to technical support forums.

I am getting dropped all the time, and I know it is not my router because next to me is my work computer and I am working just fine. NO!!! I am not working AND playing at the same time.
/checks for hidden cameras
I was getting constant “Whoops! Looks like something broke” error messages when trying to update WoW with no luck. This lead me to troubleshooting and ultimately uninstalling the battle.net app.
Now, when trying to re-install it, I am getting the same exact error message as soon as I try to use the battle.net installer. So I have no way to even try to play any blizzard games now.
Can’t find any informartion and opening a ticket is next to impossible, as I have no clue what kind of file I’m supposed to attach to it which is a required field for opening the ticket.
Really frustrating and disappointing because I JUST bought shadowlands not even a week ago and now it’s impossible to play. $60 basically thrown out the window
