I’ve noticed that the current Battle.net client keeps redownloading the same version of itself (build ID 14766) every time I open it up. The client window doesn’t show anything, but I can see the download progress by watching the C:\ProgramData\Battle.net\Agent\Agent.8653\Logs\Agent-*.log and AgentUpdate-*.log log files.
Could this be the cause of the slow downloads people have been reporting - everybody’s client is constantly redownloading and using up Blizzard’s server bandwidth?
(As a point of user interface design, the client really shouldn’t be downloading anything without showing an indication that it’s doing so, but that’s another issue entirely.)
