For the last few months the battlenet app is preventing my computer from going to sleep. I know I can just fully close it but I’d rather not.
What’s more annoying is that if I walk away while still in game and get distracted and not return, my computer DOES go into sleep mode. But if I log out, close WoW and let the App open, then it won’t go to sleep.
Is there a way to fix this without having to close the app each time?

Shut down the machine.
Neither are likely preferred but, if it’s running background tasks it’ll probably never go fully into hibernation mode.
That’s not the solution, lol.
It went to sleep just fine a few months ago. This is new and if the there are background tasks happening they are within the battlenet app because if I exit it completely my computer goes to sleep. I don’t need to shut down my computer.
Sounds like the app is checking for updates at very short intervals. Maybe check how often it’s looking for updates?

or just don’t run the app 24/7

This was it!
My “update during these hours only” had been deselected. Not sure if a battlenet update did it or I accidentally did but I just turned it back on and left for 5 minutes and my computer went to sleep! Thanks for a genuine attempt at answering my question.
Thank you. Appreciation expressed.
