There are groups or communities who find it enjoyable to enter battlegrounds via addons together (usually Epic BGs) and hold games hostage for as long as possible. Upon entering these battlegrounds, if you don’t adhere to what they desire, they’ll mass report you and eventually get you removed. Anyone else encounter these types of instances? Blizzard, is there a way to address this? Groups of players shouldn’t have the power to vote remove other players who wait in long Qs when those players are actually doing the battleground objectives.
This is happening in an isle of conquest now. Alliance with 150 killing blows, 100 million damage. I screenshotted everyone in the game doing it
Yeah, it’s absurd. It’s boring. Takes forever. And if you don’t agree with their idea for the battleground, they just mass vote to kick you lol. How childish? I ran into one called Ruin Gaming and they laugh and laugh when they vote kick other players. Easily a form of harassment.
I’ve also encountered an issue like this and it was also in the Isle of Conquest, Battleground.
I play Horde and I zoned into a match that was a complete pre-made by the Alliance team. I noticed players were getting farmed at the graveyards and were getting killed upon resurrecting. The Battleground lead for Horde told everyone to just stay dead and don’t resurrect at all so they would get bored of it and hopefully do the objectives to finish the match.
I of course said no and resurrected at the graveyard as I was trying to do the objectives. Got killed a few times of course and in the end I got removed from the Battleground by my team mates for refusing to stop resurrecting at the graveyard.
Personally, I only feel you should only be able to be removed by players reporting you as AFK if you truly are AFK. I know if enough players report you as AFK - Even if you are in combat you will get kicked from the match. Something that Blizzard needs to address I feel.
Is this alliance doing it or horde?
Both factions do it
I remember back in the day I saw a YouTube video of a group of bots that never left the keep and ran around in circles in unison along preprogrammed paths. I’d never seen it but I always ran out of the keep as soon as the gates opened so I hung back to see and there they were. Maybe a dozen, they ran as a big group to a location in the keep, waited for a few seconds, then ran to the next. I tried to find a video but I guess that behavior was that bot at that time (HB?) so it wasn’t the common one where they run outside the gates and stop.
I immediately blacklisted IoC, as did most of the horde at the time. They really should bring it back. My point is, IoC has historically been a dark place where bad people do bad things. It’s big so plenty of places to hide and soak honor I guess?
Its Ruin that is what they do.
Blizz knows they grief on many levels.
Dont be upset about getting kicked you don’t want to be associated with them in any way as many view them as players who are subpar an not respected. I have an alliance toon and I am fortunate that I have never had to be grouped with them.
I have alliance toons and I try to get into Ruin groups to cap refinery in IOC .
If we have captured mid and have a demo firing on it so it can’t be capped yet people refuse to leave mid despite /rw asking them to leave mid, yeah, you might get reported. I actually had to /rw that the other day, that everyone sitting at mid doing nothing was going to be reported as afk. Suddenly, mid cleared out as requested.
If we lay out a strat and you immediately say nah, don’t listen to this furry idiot, yeah, you might get reported for gameplay sabotage.
However, I do think gameplay sabotage should be separate from AFK. I’ve had trolls who have been reported that manage to stay the whole game, poopooing and complaining the whole way. That one negative person can affect the whole bg.
My friends and I queue epics to pvp, not to zerg. We do objectives and don’t drag things out too long. Sometimes we summon the Ice Lord for fun though.
Really. I haven’t seen this myself yet this xpac. Guess i’m lucky.
The problem is the stupid out dated deserter crap.
Remove that junk and this wont be an issue cuz
a normal reasonable person can just leave it.
Its called freedom. Blizz should look into it.
Definitely, if people are sitting in afk doing nothing, I would report and they deserve to be removed. As far as “they dont want to go with our strat” that isn’t gameplay sabotage. Nobody Qing for battlegrounds has to follow your plan, they can technically just fight players. Is it a good idea? Absolutely not. But not reportable, nor should it be. But a group of individuals who join with the idea of a specific strategy and/or deciding they’re joining to farm honor kills in the graveyard, no matter how long it takes…Them reporting players who actively participate in the battleground, but not the way the group enjoys? That is an issue. These Ruin Gaming/RuinTV/Other communities like this are toxic and I hope Blizzards actually notices it.
Well, that is exactly what gameplay sabotage is. Countering strat called with bad trollish advice, complaining and acting like a cancerous butt boil, that is gameplay sabotage. Pugs that don’t listen and go die, meh whatever 9/10 times. We report people who are causing problems and only there to be trolls.
What are these spec ops I have heard about do?
I’ve run with several premade communities on both sides. I admit some of the most fun I’ve ever had in WoW were in premade-vs-premade epic BGs. But I’ll also admit that premades themselves are arguably “gameplay sabotage” of the whole random BG system. I’m surprised Blizzard hasn’t cracked down on them yet. The friendly way would be to randomize every queue action. The unfriendly way would be to add a report feature for abuse of mechanics. It’s hypocritical for a premade to report solo players for playing the game their own way, when the premade itself is doing exactly the same thing.
Definitely report trolls. But lets say you and friends join a BG and your strat is “hey, we’re going to go stables, blacksmith, and lumber mill, you guys stay X and X”. A random player goes “no thanks, I’m going to assault mine and defend it, or continue to attack it.” That may go against your strategy, but they aren’t sabotaging anything. They’re playing the game, just not to the way the group prefers.
The main instance im referring to, is assaulting refinery/quarry in IoC, which these premades don’t like. And if you assault these bases, and don’t listen when they tell you to stop, they’ll mass report you afk to get you removed. Again, playing the game, not doing anything wrong. But they don’t like it, so they spam report. Both examples are non-reportable offenses, but these premade groups will do it either way because they want their way.
I’ve never seen this on alliance.
Same. Tho’ i can believe ruin is out there doing it, if they are back. Have never seen it horde-side in the sense that the OP posted. I’ve once in a great while seen requests to report-kick a player that is being absolutely obnoxious in BG chat. My tendency is to simply ignore such people, wish more did the same. I do like someone’s idea to add an “Avoid Player” option to the game, but maybe ignore already does that (i just doubt it, lol).
I’ve been in premades that did this. They say it in voice chat. You wouldn’t know if you’re not in their voice chat. There’s a whole different thing going on in premade voice chat than what’s typed in raid chat. The Alliance premade that does it is the worst, but they’re usually a full raid so few outsiders ever see it. There’s only one Horde side premade I’ve seen that does it. Most premades are super polite to non-members to get their cooperation and possible recruitment.
