I hit exalted with The Defilers (Arathi Basin) in less than a week of casually doing STV. Making ~2000 copper coins per event, that’s 4000 rep per half hour of playing. To make the same amount of rep doing AB you would need to win 20 games at half an hour EACH. 10 hours minimum. If you’re losing, it’s going to take even longer.
210 wins to go from Neutral to Exalted compared to doing a 30 minute event every few hours. It doesn’t even make sense to play AB to grind rep. This is silly.
The most efficient way to farm AB rep should be to play AB. Period.
In a few events I made over 3000 coins. 2000 was just the minimum I was hoping for every time.
By casually, I mean I didn’t log in for every single event. I did two events per day on average. That’s 1 hour of work for 1 week to hit exalted. Meanwhile, to grind exalted by actually playing AB, it would take you well over 100 hours. It shouldn’t be this way.
That’s a heck of a lot of coins per event, or we just sucked. If I got 10 I was happy, many times didn’t even hit 10.
Assuming you’re playing on the toon you’re posting on, and not on a mage.
But yea, even getting 5-15 coins per event I got exalted AB incredibly fast.
He’s not asking for faster rewards. He’s saying that the time to achieve the rewards should be better in the actual battleground rather than doing the mini game in STV. At the very least the time required should be similar. Currently it will take you 20x longer to do it the old fashioned way. That’s demented.
It depends on what class you play and what classes you run with. In the events where I made 3000 coins I was a Disc Priest healing 4 Mages. Most times I was running with 1-2 Mages, an Ele Shaman and a boomkin. We could easily make 2000 coins, most times more.
Okay that makes sense yea. I play a boomie and with our usual setup of 3 boomies 2 priests or 2 boomies 2 priests 1 hunter we usually got over 10, up to 19 was my max but that was a one time thing.
We should’ve made fighting near boss a higher priority, sometimes we just did a complete blood moon at a random altar for whatever reason but I wasn’t leading, I just went with it.
Gotta agree here. Even if you grind Ashenvale to revered with WSG you need over 100 wins to go from revered to exalted. You get basically nothing for a loss, so time spent in a losing game is completely wasted.
This was fine back in the day when getting exalted with AB and WSG could be done over the course of years, but in an accelerated seasonal game the rep rewards in BG’s should be far higher. We shouldn’t be forced to do these crappy outdoor “PvP” events to get rep.
You, like me, did this in phase 1 with premade groups stomping on pugs. The solo queues are now 5-7 minutes and you won’t win every single game. 105 wins is gonna take a new player / alt weeks.
