Im not sure whether that would be true or not.

about an hour ago I logged on to my 29 horde west coast for WSG. The wait time was 3 min.

LOL

25$ Server change

The changes you guys are making to classic

i can’t im ded

  1. They are about to receive a ton of $$$$ Via Server transfers lol.
  2. Pushing people back into retail for Shadowlands pre orders.
  3. Do they honestly know what players want at this point.
  4. They should know what we want as we have been telling them for 15 years.

Welp, so far not good.

There’s currently one WSG Match running (40-49) (BattleGroup US West I guess, since I’m Grobbulus) whereas normally there are 4-5 running at this time (11:30PM PST). Queues are now 11min+ whereas prior they were < 2 minutes.

But hey, at least people won’t be confused about the BG Holiday start times, right?!

What the #^$@ Blizzard?

We are actually SUPPOSED to have battlegroups.
Battlegroups came out in the 1.12 patch with the crossrealm battlegrounds.

You do know that the amount of servers vanilla had vs how many classic currently have. Vanilla servers had twice as many servers maybe even three times as many, and all those battlegroups had at least 20 servers, now its 15 west coast 20 east coast. With a fast decline in players for classic.

Player created problem, players can fix que times themself.

we also had more than 2 battlegroups then.
There were 13 battlegroups IIRC
I was in Vengeance, we had like 20 realms in it.

Some battlegroups had less realms than that, think 20 was the max

This is not a player problem. According to wowhead. Most west coast servers have a higher alliance ratio. While the East coast servers have a much high ratio for Horde. This information is very well known to blizzard yet they went with this change anyways. This isn’t a player problem. The only way us players can fix this problem is working together, which is exactly what we are trying to do.

your point being? we have a total of 35 classic servers in the US. Splitting them up to 15 WC servers and 20 EC servers, is not the solution… to be honest we never needed a solution till now. And that solution is to make everything 1 battlegroup. There is absolutely no harm in keeping it the way it was pre patch.

The vanilla crbg where split up this way as well. I checked the other day and there were 36 vanilla east coast servers split into battle groups of 6 servers each. Westcoast and oceanic was another 6 battlegroups. Vanilla never had these massive battlegroups for 24/7 ques. Vanilla crbgs were only 6 servers, there is no reason to have all the servers linked together except to help out horde ques. Player created problem, player solution to fix ques.

Well, it does not help terribly time wise, as far as the BG weekend things do

Battlegroup 11 (at peak subsciber levels)
Vengeance (US)

PvP Aegwynn
PvP Akama
PvP Chromaggus
PvE Drak’thul
PvE Draka
PvE Eitrigg
PvP Garithos
PvP Gundrak
PvP Hakkar
PvP Jubei’Thos
PvE Khaz Modan
PvP Korgath
PvE Kul Tiras
PvP Malorne
PvP Mug’thol
PvE Muradin
PvE Rexxar
PvE Runetotem
PvE Saurfang
RP Thorium Brotherhood

Check the time stamps on that, having 6 servers per battlegroup was very short lived. I remember. Sure queuing up cross server wasn’t 100% classic at the start. Blizzard changed a bunch of things for the better from vanilla to classic. Having everyone in one giant battle group for quicker queues was one of the smarter changes they had made. it affects nothing about classic, but making longer queue times now? In the middle of all this? Makes no sense.

congrats, you’re not making a case for yourself what so ever. you just posted 20 servers. While the WC classic servers have a grand total of 15. and queue times are awful. What exactly are you arguing about again?

You are right 6 was short lived, but splitting seems to address the unhealthy ability to grind honor 24/7 at 60. Having no games allows players to have a more healthy balance. Having less games during non peak times is a good thing. You will still get your twink games 6 to 8 hours a day during peak server times. It doesn’t take very long to build up twink community, if you make pvp guilds.

33 current WSG games being played at level 60
10 AV games being played at 60
@ 1:30 am PST
WC servers
Where is the lack of honor grind at again?
This change directly only affects low level brackets.

Twinking is an iconic feature of WoW classic, this change has killed that aspect for us Oceania guys whose prime time is 4am US time.
