Battleground Blitz Needs Better PVP Rewards⚔️

BG Blitz is about to become the Beyoncé of rated PvP in World of Warcraft, ready to drop an album of chaos and carnage that’ll have new players lining up faster than for a Black Friday sale. This fresh meat—I mean, influx—is going to shock the PvP scene back to life.

As these newcomers cannonball into the PvP pool, they’ll splash around in arenas and RBGs, reviving a scene that’s currently as lively as a mage with no mana. And let’s be real, the Arena and RBG community needs it!

This wave of new blood isn’t just good—it’s vital. BG Blitz could be the lifeboat that keeps PvP from sinking faster than a goblin who dropped his gold in Booty Bay. But to pull it off, the experience needs to be top-tier, with more layers than an ogre’s onion and rewards so shiny they make your inventory sparkle.

The current reward for BG Blitz looks like it’s going to be a pennant that’s basically a recycled version of the Legend reward from Solo Shuffle. If that’s true, it’s going to land about as well as a wet noodle. I mean, come on! We’ve all seen how that Legend reward was received—it was about as exciting as getting socks for Christmas.

Let’s be real: we need something more exciting, like a seasonal PvP ground mount. Now, that would make people go, “Shut up and take my time!” This is how you keep new players hooked—not just hanging around for a weekend, but sticking around long enough to become PvP veterans who can school others on the finer points of smack-talking and flag-capturing.

And don’t even get me started on the seasonal title, “Strategist.” I mean, really? That sounds more like a name for someone who arranges books by color than a title for a battle-hardened warrior! We need something with a bit more oomph—something that makes you feel like you’ve just single-handedly conquered Azeroth with one hand tied behind your back.

How about these instead:

  • Ultimate Power (because, why not?)

  • Overlord (because you totally deserve to lord over everyone)

  • Chieftain (for when you want to command respect and throw an epic BBQ)

  • High Commander (not to be confused with mildly elevated commander)

  • Lord of Conquest (it’s like Lord of the Rings, but with more PvP and less hobbits)

I mean, come on, wouldn’t these titles make you feel like you’re ready to storm the gates of Orgrimmar or solo an entire raid? What do you think?

I do agree that RBG Blitz is going to be a high contender for PVP Content. Watching top streams who usually stream arena, have been playing nothing but Blitz / making videos about them.

For the reward of actually playing them, the conquest is EXTREMELY low compared to 2s. 2s arena per win nets you 95conq while Blitz wins nets you 65
I believe this needs addressed.

For titles and what not, im sure something will be introduced once expansion comes out to earn them. If not, well. Blizzard.

I agree but its not happening. I don’t think they care about PVP enough. They just need to do enough to get by and that’s it. You’re asking quite a lot here despite PVE players getting hundreds of new mounts.

Don’t just say “I agree” give the OP post a like—it’ll need a LOT of support to get their attention!

I would agree with a greater conquest reward from rated blitz seeing as the matches seem to be longer on average than arena (with obvious exceptions), but titles are a bit more subjective and different people like different things there.

Just so long as the cosmetic reward is unique enough, I think I’ll be ok with it.

there needs to be better rewards

Probably more thematically accurate for the title from RBGB to be “Welfare Recipient”

They need to fix matchmaking and CR gains first

That too
Need better
rewards

BGB should NOT reward RBG titles and transmogs. This destroys the value of the latter bracket, and its group aspects (forming the team, teamworking, leadership, friendships, rivalries, politics, economics etc) – which, as we all know, are crucial parts of the MMORPG definition and experience.

Just as Solo Shuffle got new rewards over Arena, but kept the 3v3 arenas mount and title unique;
so should the titles nd the transmogs from RBGs be kept totally unique to the grouped bracket.

If development was still done with an honest understanding of human psychology, long-term incentivization and reward structures (rather than the postmodernistic misguided mystical ideal of sameness / resulting in simulacrity), then people would feel compelled to play different brackets and play WoW as it should be, an MMORPG.

Thx for ruining RBGs and devaluing player achievements even more :+1: :dracthyr_heart:

I’d generally agree to let the really specific rewards for the old Rated BG system be.

New rewards are also a great Idea. Mounts and transmog, it’s what the people want.

Of course, don’t get me wrong; I’m all for new / more / unique rewards. Even give Solo shuffle a recolour, less armored mount than 3v3… Even two sets, illusions etc. with higher rating tied to the more elaborate looks etc…

I just hate how everyone can get the RBG title and mog I’ve been using for over a decade from a new solo bracket

The lack of creativity in the case of BGB means devaluing many people’s work and collections from RBGs (and, this seems like a new approach at large e.g. trading post).
I’d be way more excited to play BGB anyhow if I could go in and get new rewards… Overall, it’s a poorly thought-out reward structure for the new bracket.
This is just gonna be another way of community splitting, dopamine simulacra, and hurting WoW’s MMO aspects.

From my perspective anything that gets people into games and encourages them to play to win is a plus.

I have the Blizzard bear from blizzcon long ago, I’d be a little bummed to see it on the TP. For about 5 minutes. I’d get over it.

The Blizzard bear was a purchase; whereas the Replica PvP sets and military rank titles were earned via group play for the majority of WoW’s existence

I’d not put going to Blizzcon in the category of a ‘purchase’ but it’s cool.

I’m not mad about my Vanilla PvP titles being replicated either. Whatever.

Rated BG community turned itself into… something few people wanted anything to do with.

We have a new format and a chance to form a new community around it.

The salty feeling of a few who played 10 years ago is a lot less important than the people paying and playing today.

A passion product that loses its identity – loses its consumers. Anyone who has played the game for more than just a couple of years can attest to the reductions in overall activity, enjoyment and meaning derived from the game. Players quitting is a result of changes for their own sake; which, repeating now, will only continue the Postmodernistic short-term, short-buck oriented, downspiralling trend of Meta-Marxian NPC tribalism and simulacrity.

I’ve been playing since O&H and I absolutely disagree.

what a silly person.

You tell on yourself with your own comment  As well as with your char name KEKW

It’s all patterns… Trolls are not really presenting as individuals, but rather as an ideological hive-mind.
Infantile Bully behaviours are their default when they run out of arguments (as if they were rational to begin with).

You won’t stand having in the game anything resembling long-term progress, meaning, individual fulfilment or shows or skill, effort or team work.

Before going ad-hominem like in middle school, it would be beneficial to research or at least inquire me as to what the terms I used actually mean.

Or, at least using your own circuitry to ask yourself what the issues being discussed are, at what they do.

If you cared about the long-term benefit of the game, you’d be against these ridiculous changes yourself.

Speaking as a new guy, I don’t do rated because I am not good enough.
I get roflstomped in BGS by people who have been playing for more than a decade. Kudos to them; I wish I was that good.

BGs are a huge step from PVE, and Rated is a huge step from RBG, and arenas are a huge step again.

… just me rambling.

The latter bracket already destroyed itself before BGB came along.

I’d say that if you put in a little time on youtube studying up, you could make up nearly all of that difference, and some time playing would make up the rest.

It is a whole different thing from PvE tho, you have to be ready to lose sometimes, maybe a lot for a while.
