The title says it all. Why in the world did you think it was a good idea to put a duration timer (3 days) on battlefield crates? What beneficial purpose could that possibly serve?
I’ve been collecting them for close to a month now and even went so far as to get all 30 slot bags for my 29er for the express purpose of saving up all the crates I could for a mass opening. You know, like how folks save lockboxes and open a hundred at a time? There may be an upgrade or two in there, but for me it came down to just being a silly little objective to work for; filling my bank with boxes to open all at once. How can that be harmful? How is someone collecting these things having, or potentially having, an adverse effect on the game?
I had 80 of the things in my bank and am glad a friend let me know because some of them were down to 10 hours left. Imagine if I had been on a weekend trip to come back to an empty bank and losing a month’s worth of progress without any advance warning from you folks, Blizz. Yes, it’s a “silly goal”, but it was something I was enjoying doing. Sometimes it’s the little things that make this game fun.
If you want to argue that “saving them for later levels due to item scaling is not what we want you to do.”, then bollocks on that. Twinks don’t need to save them up and people who are leveling can use the gear. I’ve been leveling two characters, one Horde and one Alliance via BGs and Dungeons and so far I’ve been in all of 3 battlegrounds per 9 levels; 10-19, etc. Three! Not all of those are wins either. People are leveling far faster than their ability to maintain level-appropriate gear. If someone wants to bank some boxes for a later bracket, let them; IT ONLY HELPS people who are leveling.
sigh At least I was able to open all the crates I’d saved.
