Anyone else think it would be cool to add a battle royale mode to wow? 20-40 players drop onto a random location (islands,parts of Kul'tras/Zandalar) with all of their gear equipped. Killing blows grant small increments of power. Cool tmog items as a rewards for winning and a maybe a chance at mount or something. Think is could bring some spice back to the game.

Jesus no following trends will not work in wow. Pulling that type of game mode into wow is such a bad idea.
Really recommend FN, pubg or Black ops if you want that gameplay.

This week's brawl is very similar to that and it's not nearly as exciting as it sounds.
Just the idea of it makes me laugh. That is one thing that does not belong in WoW.

Don't know about the loot rewards but love the idea to 40 man a field fight, bring it on.
Nah. I think they should have a third warmode setting, which is FFA PvP all the time. You are hostile to everyone. Maybe that'll shut up the people who can never brag enough about what hardcore gankers they are.

I think that's an awesome idea, FFA's are always fun because pre-mades stay away from those as there is only one winner!

Remember the FFA WQs in Legion? Yeah, me and my buddies would group for those all the time and not kill each other while creaming everyone else. It would just happen with a Battle Royale mode, except friends will rotate wins.

Premades do not stay away...
At the colosseum in WoD premades would be formed to get someone the Lord/Lady of War title and that thing that gave you a huge buff in wpvp. Can't remember the name of it. But the lone one or two people that were not with the premade would be the first targets.
The same will happen if they ever reintroduced it. People will form groups and rotate the wins. If you want a battle royale, Fortnite is waiting for you.

.... don't know about Black Ops considering the other BR games are less expensive or free. 130 bucks to get all the content is just insanity.
I can see why this thread got some negative reactions, and I can appreciate most points made. However, I believe an additional pvp feature that focuses on a free for all style brawl could bring some spice back into the game. The feature doesn't have to be labeled battle royale, but the idea can be twisted and changed into its own idea. Honestly, can one really say adding a new free for all pvp mode will have any negative connotation to the game? the difference between fortnite and a wow version of battle royale is that in wow you have a character that has items you have worked for over time. Winning a game of fortnite gives you nothing, in a wow version there would be rewards and it would be something that could incentives players to have a reason to get better and increase the power level of their character beyond the few elements of the current game that that drive players to increase the power level of their character, and ultimately give players something to work towards.
There are these things called rogues and ferals. They can be invisible. If they can't be invisible, their spec loses an essential component they are balanced around. In other words, rogues/ferals would either be too OP for a Battle Royale to make sense, or too gimped by the fact that invisibility would be too powerful that it would be nerfed to oblivion. Then they would !@#$% and moan endlessly and they would have a point. So no, the current class system would not effectively work within a Battle Royale situation. IF Blizzard wanted to balance PVP around dueling, or just actual 1v1 situations, then yes, I would totally be ok with a Battle Royale mode. However, PVP is currently balance around character interatctions in 3v3 high level arena.
There are ways to implement stealth counter mechanics within the game mode. I love all this talk about not following trends, I guess everyone forgot about how amazing all of Blizzards original ideas for WoW have been lately.
The idea isn’t to make a fortnite or PUBG, the idea is to build on the backbone of that type of game mode and make something creative and different. WoW has been bleeding subs for years, so how is something that might actually draw players to this game, instead of driving them away a bad idea?
