Battle Resto Shaman?

I was looking through Icy Veins to get a general idea of what I needed for my offspec (main enhance, offspec resto) and I saw something about a battle resto shaman.

I assume it works like fistweaver with most of the healing coming from totems, healing rain, and riptide but I was wondering if anyone had actually tried it and could tell me how viable it is. Please and thank you

With the way current content is passive healing is usually not enough, you can keep fire shock up on the target and use your free procs of lava burst to help out with dps or chain lightning/chainheal if you have the one legendary item. Just my two cents on the topic. Good luck!

In normal and heroic dungeons you can do your totems and riptide do most of the healing and just dps most of the time. In mythic keys the mobs hit too hard for that to work.

There’s no Resto Shaman analogue to Mistweaver where your damage directly translates into healing, at least not that I’m aware of. It’s pretty common in keys to spend time doing damage with Lava Burst, Lightning spells and Shocks as a Resto Shaman but when the time comes to pump up the healing, damage is going to be the first to drop from your rotation.

All healers are expected to DPS to some degree, especially in M+, but only a few DPS as part of their actual healing rotation. Mistweavers have passives and talents that benefit them specifically when using their melee abilities (in the form of Mana restoration and/or healing) and Paladins have a cooldown that causes you to heal for large amounts when attacking enemies as well as a Mastery that benefits being closer to your allies.

I mean you should be constantly weaving flame shock and lava burst in with your healing spells, but that’s just basic rsham gameplay not a battle rsham

Stack haste/vers
Download bartender 4
Enable smartcasting so you can targetoftarget dps the enemy mob, while you heal your primary target
???
Your now a battle shaman

Or you can just use a healing addon.

I tried healing addons, but then you have to look at raid frames.
I prefer to hide raid frames and just use nameplate for healing, so i can keep my eyes on the environment.
Mousewheel for changing friendly targets and shift mousewheel for enemy targets.
This “doesn´t” work in big raids though for obvious reasons, cause too many nameplates, but fine in pvp and dungeons.
