While using the Mobile App for the command table and an overview of the world quests is great, I feel like it would be something that’d be fun to play if pet battles were adapted to the platform. There could even be small quests associated with battles, such that a player could progress “The Very Best” quest in the mobile app.
A fully featured mobile experience could be a very large undertaking for sure considering the breadth of player collections so far. Managing potentially thousands of critters with different move sets and stats. But I’d recommend collaborating with the designers of Rematch who created a fantastic one window UI for browsing the pets, displaying the team on deck, and creating easy access to user created teams, with tabs for levelling and the like.
Just queuing for generically programmatic pet battles and PvP battles would be much more engaging than just checking in on the command table.
Long term the scope of complexity could increase to richer experiences of course. Imagine being able to jump in, seeing the map of the Shadowlands or Zandalar, clicking on a pet battle that’s available, then seeing a pop-up to “Battle Now!”. Suddenly that quest in Valdisdall “Beasts of Burden” doesn’t just rot there, but you’re fighting Andurs and Rydyr in sequence. Leveraging the existing world of warcraft’s creative assets in this way would be a big boon for someone riding the subway.
Looking at the “Similar to” side bar, there’s a few posts from a year ago and beyond that didn’t get a lot of attention. With none on the Pet Battle Forum it seems.
