Pet battling is one of the aspects of the game I enjoy most, and I feel like it’s time to take a look at overhauling the system. Specifically with regard to leveling/experience.
Battle pets should be able to advance rarity with experience. Previous expansions allowed you to progress rarity level through experience for followers, why not pets? For instance, this expansion introduced many renown-locked pets. For the sake of conversation, let’s use Hoofhelper. He is rare until you actually right click him and add him to your journal, when he becomes green. Why? Legitimately, what is the purpose? Now players have to use a stone to upgrade them, and for what reason? The pet should be rare quality on use.
There doesn’t seem to be any rhyme or reason for how pets are classified, since many do in fact get learned as rare.
TL;DR Allow battle pets to upgrade rarity through pet battle experience.

I’d love for them to revisit the system. Also the pet battle weekly should just be for regular battles. It’s so difficult to find anyone that does pet battles for that.

Blizzard abandoned the feature years ago and the hardcore pet battlers don’t want change.
I’m honestly surprised it still get support to any degree. I expect it to be one of those things they just quietly drop due to lack of engagement, like archaeology.
I’m actually astonished that this system still sees any kind of love. It always just seemed like Pokemon with sloppy netcode.
I hope you get what you want friend. I know we all play for different reasons.

It’s not that I don’t want change, it’s that i’ve been burnt so many times by blizzards ‘revamps’ or ‘changes’ that I don’t trust them to not monumentally screw it up.
So for the sake of some inconvenience i’d rather they didn’t touch it and left it well alone.
I’ve come to learn with blizzard that the devil you know is better than the devil you dont sadly.

That’s not the way updates work. I have also used hundreds of stones. Maybe Blizz could refund all the honor, conquest, etc. you’ve used on gear over the years, too.
Ok, forget the update. Next thing you know everyone will just want to get max level pets. Maybe even get them leveled for doing heroic dungeons or something.
Not a bad idea! Blizzard already gives us Super Squirt days, where it only takes two battles to go 1-25. So you’re right, why not just have all pets be the same level?
Pet PVP is my favorite content in WoW. I know I’m a minority. The thing I want the most in WoW personally, besides player housing…, is simply more rewards for the pet PvP queue. The rewards right now are AWFUL. It’s almost like they are afraid to incentivize the content, because so many people don’t want to do it. That’s a BS reason. There’s tons of grinds in WoW that give rewards that most people don’t feel compelled to grind out.
