I use CCleaner, and for the longest never had a problem with it and WOW. But starting a month ago battle.net and some times WOW would forget its settings. I thought it was WOW’s fault and posted here lookinhg for a fix, but after some testing it only happens after i run Ccleaner. Did you guys change where the setting for battle.net are saved? If not then Ccleaner is cleaning a new place. could you look in to this please.

Hi there Aprunhily,
On this one I have information that can help.
For the Blizzard app we save many things in a few locations. To get to these you can press Windows + R and enter these locations:
%PROGRAMDATA%
%LOCALAPPDATA%
%TEMP%
%APPDATA%
For World of warcraft. Most settings are saved in the WTF folder. We have steps to get there here.
Out side of this, the game settings should be synced with the game server. To make sure that is on, these commands could be typed in game.
/Console SET synchronizeConfig “1”
/Console SET synchronizeBindings “1”
/Console SET synchronizeSettings “1”
To reset everything to default in game, type this command.
/Console Cvar_Default
I hope this helps out my friend. I hope backing these up can help save the game settings.

I’m going to confirm this. Even if you don’t clean cookies in your browser. Even if you put battlenet in the save the cookie list in CCleaner. the newer version of CCleaner, where it scans for trackers, removes some battlenet information.
After running CCleaner I don’t have a problem with battlenet itself, but I do have to re-log onto these forums and re-set which character I post from.
My guess is the CCleaner is classifying some battlenet file as a tracker and deleting it when running the new cleaner.
EDIT:UPDATE
I just set CCleaner to ignore (options/exclude) the entire World of Warcraft folder and this seems to have fixed the issue.
I excluded the entire folder because I’m too lazy to go looking through and figure out which file is the problem
