Battle net app scanning game files

I just opened the bnet app and it started scanning game files.
I did not start this scan myself. Should I be concerned?
Is this a new thing with today’s update?

I got the same thing. Attempted to delete the .IDX files and finish a scan, still came up next time. Thinking of backing up my addon settings and re-installing.

This affecting a lot of people. I have followed their recommendations (deleting the IDX files, deleting launcher and re-run, etc.), even so far as to check my own disk for corrupted files. It’s just the launcher, just WoW. And there doesn’t seem to be anyone who knows why, yet. There was one person among hundreds(?) I’ve seen who said she fixed it by reinstalling THROUGH the launcher. Imma give that a shot.

Let us know if it worked. Please

I have been working on fixes for this and have found non. I can not uninstall via the battlenet app, I have tried but it does not uninstall the game. I may have to manually delete the files but I don’t think its the game client it is the launcher. Would really love to get some support on this so we could log in.

The clean launcher install, removing addons, etc., seemed to have worked. So if you are checking this post into the future, give it a try.
