While trying to fight Blackhand, he no longer destroys the Iron Stars when you get behind them, and thus you can't complete the scenario.

Summary: During the final stage of "The Battle for Shattrath" scenario in Talador, Blackhand's ability Marked for Death no longer destroys Iron Stars.
Steps:
1) Enter the scenario "The Battle for Shattrath"
2) Progress the scenario to the final stage "Blackhand"
3) Stand behind an Iron Star (the spiky balls on the deck of the ship where the encounter takes place) when Blackhand has marked you for death.
Outcome: Player marked for death is hit by Marked for Death.
Expected Outcome: Iron Star is destroyed and player avoids Marked for Death.
Relevance: At a level appropriate for this encounter, destroying the Iron Stars is required. If it is possible to complete this by brute force by reducing Blackhand's hp, it is moot because of the amount of time it would take a level 100 player to reduce Blackhand's hp.
Other information: At level 103 / ilvl 135, after 10 to 15 minutes of actively trying to kill him, plus another 30 minutes of a felhunter and corruption ticking and occasional drain life casts to keep my health up, it whittled down only 1700k of his 6442k hp. Please keep this in mind if it works by brute forcing it -- I have no evidence to support that it can be brute forced at this time.
Edit: Roughly 5 minutes after writing this post, something caused the encounter to conclude successfully. Blackhand's hp was around 4500k. I had ceased trying to hide behind stars and just stood next to Yrel for the damage buff she drops on the ground. If this is intended, it certainly isn't intuitive from the mechanics and not how one did this encounter during Warlords of Draenor.

2 years later and this bug still exists. It’s still not possible to finish this quest.

Having the same issue. I came back to do the quest expecting it to be fixed and a year later it’s still bugged. Please let me play the game blizzard. It would be much appreciated.
I found out how to beat it. I stood next to Y’rel and attacked him till he got down to about 70-80%. Took about 3 resets and 45 minutes but I got it. Shouldn’t have to be this way but whatever smh.
