Hey everyone,
I can’t quite put my finger on it, but Battle for Mount Hyjal feels a bit like a torturous slog to grind. There are a ton of transmogs, a ton of BoP profession recipes (which seem to have a habit of dropping on the wrong toons), a ton of standing around for “waves” to spawn, and a ton of running around to kill the waves that are in the air, on the ground, and all over the place.
What are some improvements you can suggest to make this experience less painful?

I think the first thing I would want to ask is this raid ever played at level? Meaning actual at level or in TimeWalking. If not…
The Alliance base isn’t that bad, save running back and forth to talk with Jania.
The Horde base on the other hand is what I think you are refering to mostly. It’s been a while but if memory serves the waves spawn quickly once the last mob is dead from the precious one, the catch being as you noted tracking down the flying ones and other ones around the camp. If the raid is not utilized at level anymore a simple fix could be having the mobs aggro to the “gate” where you first enter the camp, saving a little running around.
Indeed, the Horde base is pretty bad. The time it takes for the waves to spawn and roll in is also an issue. It feels like 90% of the raid is spent running around and waiting. It has Siege vibes, only it’s shorter.
Only the waves for 3rd and 4th boss are bad because of the gargoyles and infernals, otherwise everything comes through the door, 1 hit aoe kill them, wait next pack.
mt hyjal is like this because it was designed with 25 players in mind. this means you had a group of players at every possible spawn point. short of completely redoing the horde base section (which they aren’t going to waste time on.) im not sure there’s anything they can do.
