If you want to do the Battle for Lordaeron questline on any of your characters, you’re going to want to do it before 9.0.1 hits live, as I think the questline is being completely 100% removed from the game in Shadowlands.
There are some weapons transmogs you can get from the questline, which will likely be unobtainable once the Battle for Lordaeron questline is removed.
To my knowledge, the questline for the Battle for Lordaeron scenario isn’t being moved to an NPC in the BfA zones like the part of the Legion intro questline involving Magni Bronzebeard and Karazhan. You also cannot queue for the Battle for Lordaeron scenario on the PTR.
Myabe they just pulled it off the PTR. The reason players totally new to the game will be funneled from Exile’s Reach into BFA is to have them up to date on the story going into SL. With that said, it would be silly to remove it. Though Blizzard never fails to surprise be it good or bad.
Me too. That’s why I added it. Honestly I hope they don’t though. It’s great and has everything to do with the story they want to tell brand new players.
Maybe OP did you even consider trying the quest on a lvl 50 that hasn’t done the scenario? Going into BfA new characters cannot get the Heart of Azeroth necklace but still pick up azerite armor. The necklace quest chain is marked as needing to be level 50.
That much I do know, but I haven’t seen or heard of any way to access the Battle for Lordaeron questline yet. If I get around to it, I’ll check on the PTR if a character who hasn’t done the BfA intro gets access to the Battle for Lordaeron questline after getting to Kul Tiras/Zandalar.
The Battle for Lordaeron is still available for characters that are on the questline. I’m guessing it’s a level 45 questline now, according to the PTR.
Still though, it’s kind of a mess the way it is handled, and the changes to how the BfA quests are accessed are poorly explained. It would be nice to get an official post explaining how the questlines for Battle for Lordaeron and the Heart of Azeroth will be accessed in SL instead of having to waste a lot of time testing characters at varying levels.
