With this artificial batching you’ve created, you’ve introduced some unintended consequences.
If a shaman blows his Elemental Mastery casts Chain Lightning and Earth Shock both will be guaranteed crits.
Also, NPC interaction among other things feel terrible due to the delay of batching. I for one was in the the #nochanges community, so I understand where you were coming from with batching; but it just makes the game feel terrible and has brought amongst a ton of unintended consequences.
p.s.
Thanks Ohhgee

inb4 the silly people telling you it’s your memory that’s wrong and the game is perfect.

This batching must be why I can kick/gouge/stun a mob and they still get their cast off a full second afterwards. Feels horrible and cheap. (yes, my ping is fine)

Shameful blizzard. We pay good money for this game. We expect a working game, not some lagged - down, bugged, unvanilla frankenport from retail.

using Elemental Mastery to guarantee 100% crits on two spells within the batch window is a bug
how do I know this?
cuz Paladins could originally do it as well with Divine Favour but it was nerfed twice over the course of Vanilla:
-
Patch 1.11.0: It is no longer possible to cast this immediately after a healing spell and “retroactively” make it a critical hit.
-
[Patch 1.7.0] (13-Sep-2005): Paladins can no longer activate Divine Favor on the previously cast healing spell.

here’s one of the most famous Elemental Shaman videos from Vanilla WoW:
2:07 mark you see him use Elemental Mastery plus Trinkets to boost his Chain Lightning procs which both crit BUT the Earth Shock right after does NOT crit within the batch window.
Happens again at the 6:55 mark - pops Elemental Mastery again but it only affects Chain Lightning, but not his shock

Working as intended. Not a bug.

that may be blizzlike, the problem is they added it EVERYTHING
Only things that aren’t batched they make an exception for. THat was not how teh game was designed.
Contrary to what this or that blue post will tell you
But CCing eachother yea…Very doable blizzlike
Having every action the server does on a batch unless they go out of their way to make an exception…Pretty sure not blizzlike lol
nope - Ioneye’s video clearly shows Elemental Mastery was NOT batched for both Chain Lightning + Shock immediately after

See this is one of those things someone could have tricked me on claiming “This is Vanilla” and “Batching” but I don’t remember this ever taking place… There were 2 Ele shaman on my server that I have so far NEVER seen an equal too in “Classic 2019” but the game is still young and there is time for these modern ele shaman to improve their skills… Thus far most of these kids are crap.
HOWEVER, now that I see the original Vanilla video it’s very clear that batching earth shock into CL forced crits is not vanilla at all and my memory is again correct.
This is the same kind “This is authentic BS from certain players” that can be expected when the true meaning of their post is “Don’t nerf me bro”

Paladins COULD do it early on in Vanilla with Divine Favour, but it was bug fixed not once but twice in separate patches:

It’s not elemental mastery, but in Vanilla and Classic mages can take advantage of Shatter’s 50% crit bonus by lining up a Frostbolt and hitting Cone of Cold. Since Frostbolt is in the air it’s calculated with the shatter bonus while Cone of Cold breaks the freeze effect.
I don’t care for spell batching, but double crits off of one effect was possible in Vanilla
Shatter combo existed from Vanilla to at least Panda wow.
Ele mastery is an entirely different thing.
Batching still exists in modern wow, the batches are just tighter.
The problem this game has is artificial imitation batching.
The game engines work fundamentally different Vanilla vs Modern game engine.
Presently things that could be done in actual vanilla cannot be executed in Classic but things that were not possible in Vanilla are possible in Classic.
AKA the system that’s in place sucks.

Because he’s clicking, he clicks Earth Shock after casting Chain Lightning, you need to queue the spell up.
Same reason this guy doesn’t get a crit on his Earth Shock:
Half second batch… (4/10th second batch) is still quite a large window that even a clicker can manage no problem.
In that video he’s not clicking, that’s just him mashing his keybind like bonkers. Have another look.
The only thing he’s “clicking” are the enemy targets; excluding that he’s keybound and playing as quickly as humanly possible. (video you linked)
The video linked above… Also not a clicker, he’s click selecting the enemy targets, but his abilities are keybound. (Video that theloras linked)
No, in the video Theloras linked he’s clicking but the video software he’s recording with isn’t showing his mouse cursor.
Look at his hotkeys lighting up but not depressing, that’s because he’s moving his cursor over them.
Look at this timestamp, watch his action bar. You can see him drag his mouse diagonally through his keybinds:
even if what you are saying is true or not - the fact that Blizzard specifically bug fixed out the exact same mechanic from being possible during two separate patches with Divine Favor lends credence to it not being in Classic
Given the nature of the very specific paladin focused nerf of the same nature it does make sense that the mechanics of that nature would universally be eliminated.
Orc DR bug isn’t enough for this guy, needs additional bugged mechanics to compete.
Oh and don’t even get me started on grounding totem. It can eat what, 15 total spells in one batch?
