I’ve seen quite a few of posts that state the ones that go to Bastion are basically slaves simply because their memories are removed. This isn’t remotely true, since Bastion is basically heaven, and Heaven is the ultimate place of happiness and peace. If you male it there, then you have no worries whatsoever, and your previous life would actually be a burden in that place.
Incidentally, the Mw s basically hello, and as such the memories of the as mortal life is a form of punishment in itself. Revendreth is basically Purgatory, in which the memories are used to redeem those in order to make it to the paradise of Bastion. Maldraxus is basically Vahalla, and it seems s a warrior’s paradise.I’m still not sure what Ardenwald would be in real life religion’s meaning, though.
This is jus somthing that has been eating at me everytime someone writes on how it’s a forced bad thing when someone who makes it to Bastion upon deathis made to go through a process to forget their mortal memories
Bastion is for those who dedicated their lives to service of others to continue serving. Stripping the Kyrian of their memories is for the good of the cycle, not the blue pigeons.
You can see that in how they go about preparing the aspirants. They generally don’t care about the aspirants or their suffering. That’s why it took so long for anyone to notice that Uthers soul was literally damaged and why, even after Devos went well beyond what was expected and figured that out, the Archon just told her to shut up and color.
they got brainwashed into wiping heir memory
Not even a problem anymore, Archon has given the option of keeping your memories.
What soured my opinion of them is the quest trying to turn defectors back to kyrian. If they can’t be turned you kill them.
Nothing says free will like killing those who disagree with your cause.

Its not heaven its a cog in the Machine of Death. There are supposedly much better places to be sent to. Kyrians are robots that serve The Purpose! They are STILL tossing souls into the Maw. They cared nothing about what they were doing. The Aspirants pain and suffering was also ignored. They even created Stewards that will die if it isn’t Helping 24/7.
They love souls from Revendreth saying they send the most dedicated Souls to serve! You know why they send the best souls? The Vamps make them suffer for eons using their memories. So when they finally show up to Bastion they instantly purge all memories so they dont have to remember what happened to them in Revendreth lol.
We spent all of 9.0 just killing anyone that was having wavering thoughts pretty much purging the whole zone. Which pushed even more into the Forsworn until they were pretty even in numbers forceing the Blue Robots to actually stop and think about what they were doing. 9.1 we finally stop murdering every single one but still beat them into submission or kill if they dont agree to serve the Kyrian again LOL. But hey they can keep there memories!
The denizens of Bastion eventually learned their lesson and fixed the problem.
Even the Stewards being workaholics is being fixed thanks to certain Stewards’ experiences with the other Cosmic Realms making them understand the joys of relaxation.

Sika
Sika love work. Organizing, scheduling, tracking resources, keeping everything running good!
Friends say “Sika too busy”, but Sika always say it’s okay! Sika love it!
But now Sika understand. Friends send Sika to Revendreth, for party! Maldraxxi friend in Korthia says breaks important.
In past, maybe too controlling. Sika learning to delegate! Let friends help. Teach other stewards to be like Sika! Then we all take breaks. More to life than work!
Sika visiting Revendreth and Korthia taught Sika that breaks are needed. More importantly it taught her the wonders of Partying! She is going to teach the other Stewards the wonders of Breaks and Partying.
Bastion is being fixed. Bastion is finally going to understand Free Will, Parties and Breaks.
Yeah worn the changes happening in Bastion it seems to be my ideal choice of afterlife among the four options presented. I can swim, play with the stewards since they’re learning to enjoy that now.
In the beginning, they wiped the minds of their people to do away with their suffering after the Void war. However, like with most things, what was a good idea eons ago, became something they did because they always did it. I think there is a lesson in there somewhere.
It’s not really heaven. It just looks like what people tend to imagine it being
Bastion looks like Elysian Fields from Greek Myth.
Heaven(which originates from the Old English Word for Sky) is mentioned in the Bible(the New Testament’s original Greek Language word for Heaven is Ouranos AKA the Greek Word for Sky) and given no description aside from having a Fiery Sea of Crystal Glass with a Throne atop of it.
New Jerusalem has the description of Pearl Gates on a Crystal Clear Jade Outer Wall with the City inside being of Pure Gold like Transparent Glass(sounds like the Golden Skyscrapers) even down to the Streets. No details on the Architectural Style so feel free to imagine the place as resembling Coruscant or Ancient Israel if you wish.
i thought the owls had like, chore-ocd and the buff big blue angels were just taking advantage of it?
It is outright stated that the Kyrians constantly told the Stewards to take a break but they didn’t start listening until one went to Revendreth and Korthia learning the wonders of Partying and the necessity of breaks.
Sika of course only went to Revendreth because the Maw Walker invited her. The Maw Walker is the one whose travels across the Shadowlands inspired the Ember Court to delve outside of Revendreth whereas before I’m sure the Venthyr previously wanted the Great Dark Beyond’s wonders since that is what most of the talk was.
Our trip to the Shadowlands showed the Venthyr that there was more beyond Revendreth and the Great Dark Beyond but the rest of the Shadowlands had value as well. That led to Revendreth reaching out to those parts to invite Party Guests thus showing the Stewards the value of Parties.
Once that was in Sika’s Heart she became susceptible to the Maldraxxi’s lessons of taking a break in Korthia.
The Shadowlands reaching out to each other is what saved the Stewards from their workaholic nature!
Furthermore the Venthyr even wanted to taste each type of Anima in the Shadowlands due to our adventures in the Shadowlands consuming Bastion’s Cyan-White Anima, Ardenweald’s Blue-Purple Anima, Maldraxxus’s Green Anima and Revendreth’s own Red Anima. I’m amazed we didn’t gather the Maw’s 2 Variants of Anima(Ghostly Blue and Rainbow-Black) as well as White Broker Anima!
