Hi all!
I believe i may have encountered a bug regarding the Basic Phial Alchemical Experimentation in the Alchemy profession.
Every time i have tried to experiment in the last 3 days (aside from when it was disabled) my experiments have failed on the first try. i have been locked out of progressing my Alchemy due to this.
I have retrieved all the available Alchemy knowledge and currently sit at 10 Phial mastery, 10 Phial lore, 9 Phial Experimentation, 5 Alchemical Theory and 1 Decayology. with 4 in reserve.
If anyone has any recommendations or has had a similar experience, please let me know if i am doing something wrong. If im just unlucky and have failed the last 8 attempts in about 72 hours…please also let me know i shouldnt do mythic 0s any time soon xD.

I’m right here with you, and I think we’re "unlucky’ in the sense that they built a system that allows people to fail repeatedly like this on the first try after a 4hr CD, and we’re hitting it. It is wild to me.
If you’re locked out of your main profession progression for 4 hours, you should at least get one guaranteed non-explosion after the 4 hour wait, if not more. Getting 3-4 in a row is demoralizing as hell.

Its pretty unfortunate because im really excited about the new professions and working towards unlocking them.
Its demoralizing and frustrating to make 0 progress in 3 days lol

currently on my 5th explosion in a row… its super demoralizing to even progress in alc at this point, is this intended to be like this? I haven’t been able to make progress in alc in like 5 days due to this

My alchemist has been on cooldown with this experimentation since they brought it back online. I try 3 times a day and fail 3 times a day. We have raid coming up and I’ve been unable to discover new phials. Please, fix this.

I’ve also had this same issue. I’ve been failing over and over and even used my liquid courage potions and it failed every single time I used them. I’m at a loss of what to do, I can’t progress my alchemy.
I also have
10 Phial Master
10 Phial Lore
20 Phial experimentation
If I had to put a number on it, this started occuring when I reached past 10 in Phial Experimentation so it could be tied to the Alchemically inspired buff.

I talked with a few guildies about this, and they said that their explosion chance went down significantly when they unlocked Advanced Phial Experimentation and started using that instead, and also the CD was only 2 hours.
I pumped my experimentation up to 20 today and tried it, and it was mostly smooth sailing all the way to 100. I don’t love that I had to burn a ton of knowledge in this specific branch to cap, but I’m happy to be 100 finally.
I went 20/20 Batch Production instead of getting Advanced Phial Experimentation. Since I hit 75 skill I have failed every Basic Phial Experimention I’ve tried. 4 days. I wasn’t counting, but I’d guess 12 failures in a row.
If Blizzard expected us to take Advanced Phial Experimentation in order to hit 100 skill they should have made that clear from the start. As is, it’s going to take me months to hit 100 skill, if not longer. Basic Experimentation becomes green at 90 skill. Imagine how long it’d take to get 10 skill-ups on a green recipe with a 95% failure rate and 4 hour lockout on failure…
What they should do is allow us to make Liquid Courage with Hochenblume. I literally have 2200 Hochenblume and no decent recipes to make with it all.
in the exact same boat , keeps failing on the first try , and having to wait 4 hours every time it happens , was at first like “ok” and now that its happened my last 3 tries it’s actually the dumbest design I’ve seen. They really need to do away with this.
