Baseline abilities to weak?

I mostly play monk and mage. When i look at mage trees and i see talents that boost spells by 5 to 10% compared to monk talents that have to give abilities up to 4k percentage increas to even think of pressing that ability its depressing. Even with a ridiculously high percentage talent increases to abilites those abilities are still not the best choices in all scenarios.

So there’s a lot more than goes into the damage calculation beyond what you can see. A lot of specs, I think all of them at this point, have auras that are in the background that add additional modifiers to the damage calculation.

I don’t know of many 4000% increases except maybe Emperor’s Capacitor which is designed to take an ability that isn’t really a damage ability and turn it into a very strong one. I think that’s more the exception, not the rule.
