I have been having this strange problem with BT4 lately and I have no idea why or how to fix it.
Currently I have been changing my ui around and I switched to bartender4 for my well bars. The issue is I have a base bar set up that I have saved under 1 profile which I hoped to make setting up other or new toons easy.
Here is the issue, every single time I either reload, switched toons or sometimes after a cut screen. The ui switches back to the base set up than I have to go back to profiles and copy it back. It doesn’t seem to be saving.
I use bartender too and use profiles to set all the alts. Hate to suggest this: you probably need to delete the WTF and Addons folders, restart the game and redo fresh addons. This is also suggested by Blizzard. I do this after every major patch.

Figured it out. My realui addon was overriding my bartender set up.
If you need a better UI that isn’t overriding it, I may recommend Zperl. It’s pretty nice! Easy to configure too!
it’s all good I like realui and it was a very simple fix. it has an actual toggle that allows you to override bt4 or not. I simply unchecked it and instant fix.
