Unfortunately, this stupid name has doomed this server. There are practically no Day 1 guilds. Even the guilds that originally established there have now flocked to Jom Gabbar as it is growing into a more appealing choice.
Please reconsider this server name in order to encourage population split on NA East servers.

From what I’ve seen the Discord is popular enough. Around 500 people.
It’s just not gonna be the megaserver, and at this point a name change isn’t gonna change that. Jom Gabbar was already designated it.
We saw the same crap when Classic launched.

They are trying to congregate on mega servers so that they aren’t stuck with having to pay for a transfer later when players leave. Nothing wrong with this. Blizzard shouldn’t have created this many servers and just had 3 for NA with tons of layering.

It’s no wonder Blizz stopped listening to the community. What data set do you have that proves the population is high/low (unknowable) and that it is the result of the name (unknowable)? I’d love to review. And no, unofficial ‘community’ discords are NOT proof, lmao.

I personally take Discord size at this stage with a grain of salt. I know I joined the Discord for a lot of servers just to get an idea what is going on with them. And I’m sure that I’m not the only person doing that.

Not only is it a bad name, but blizzard is mistakenly making too many U.S. Servers.
They should not have four pvp servers. They should have 2 tops and 2 pve.
They must be really over estimating how many people are going to play SOM. Which is virtually no one. Less than 10k active players first month. Month two 5k, Month 3, you’re going to be talking like 3k players or less.
One thing they know for sure. They will always have a sub from you.
Absolutely. It’s difficult to tell how representative (if at all) of a potential community it might represent. And I’m personally on both of them, so what does that say?
Anyway, it’s something rather than nothing, and at the time of this post, the Alliance:Horde ratio on Barman seems much more even than that on Jom, whatever that may indicate (which may just be nothing at all).
Only the absolute loneliest of losers (myself included) are going to these discord servers and caring about this stuff before it even launches. There are 2 pvp servers on each coast. It will be fine.

I hereby pledge my loyalty to rolling my paladin on Barman Shanker alliance for SoM season1.
Barman shanker shall be the haven for players uninterested in modern fads like token economy efficiency premades, and slaving/stressing about parses. That demographic of players will flock to JG out of fear and they will find a server better tailored to (lets be honest) younger players and what they desire from the game better than the second most popular server.
Barman Shanker inspires old BRD memories, and is popular enough to likely continue to draw the older demographic.
I’ll be a major coordinator for R10+ alliance BGs here server-wide, I can play either Paladin healer spec in helmet-level bgs, hit me up because I will need at least 14 good friends lol.
