Bare Minimum - Maximum loot for minimum effort.
Alliance
PVP server
Focused on maximum loot for minimum effort and on increasing raid challenge to emulate vanilla difficulty by taking no policy on world buffs and limited policy on consumables. Challenge mode nights will exist where world buffs are prohibited. The guild may decide as a whole to buff or consume in the last parts of a raid night to clear content, but the goal is to git gud and clear without. Parse nights to bolster personal marketability for pugs may also be decided on as a group.
5:00 PM to 8:30 PM Pacific
Monday/Tuesday rotating raid schedule to start, additional days added for additional content
A rotating schedule gives raiders 13 days of freedom to PVP and do other things, saving gold on respec costs while still clearing every lockout each week.
Loot: BiS-restricted SR. Legendaries LC.
Needs:
- Main tank filled
- Warm bodies
- All classes
- Dwarf priest is the only thing we’ll have to be careful about with race requirements
- High enough skill to compensate for missing world buffs
Culture
Endeavor to create something chill and relaxed. Laughing as a response to a wipe, not toxicity. No private officer channels, high transparency.

Damn if this were Horde I’d apply for an officer spot instantly. On the front page there are like 11 Alliance PvP guilds recruiting and one or zero Horde.
This guild gonna be a hella hard sell anyway. Thought about moving it to weekend to make it attractive to alts.
I don’t necessarily think so. People are pretty over the world-buff, parse-chasing meta. This will be our 5th time going through Classic since 2019. There’s not much left to prove. We know you can clear Molten Core in 15min. We know the DPS everyone can do with every imaginable world buff and consumable. You end up spending 4 hours and hundreds of gold to spend 22min in the raid. And for what, some numbers on a 3rd party website?
Chrono boon definitely takes some of the pressure off, but it’s still a chore getting world buffs with how insanely toxic the general PvP community has gotten. I think SoD has revealed an unprecedented number of sociopaths. People who spend literally 18 hours a day rezzing in Fel Wood to dispel off flower buffs, or people who multi-bot hunters at darkmoon faire to instantly kill anyone that gets fair buff. It’s gotten so bad you almost have to queue for a BG, get summoned in, get your buff, accept BG queue and then afk out of the BG to get away safely with a world buff.
Ain’t nobody got time for that. Especially since you want to play on the PvP server.
I think the word “casual” is so pejorative now, but it’s wild to me that it has become that way. The average Classic player is probably a slightly balding 37 year old father of two. MC, BWL, Onyxia and even AQ to a lesser extent can all be cleared in a really short amount of time without a single world buff. Fewer people have the appetite to chase all that.
In addition, let’s be real, this is essentially a TBC waiting room. With the change to the Honor Ranking system, I expect raiding will even take a slightly back seat to ranking this time around as people shoot for their Rank 14 gear to park the character for the Dark Portal opening event.
I think your guild is an attractive option for a lot of players. But Alliance? Yuck. And for some reason, 95% of the guilds I’ve seen advertised so far are for the inferior faction. Perception can be strong in TBC arena, sure. But Alliance will have half the Shaman that Horde have just by virtue of you needing to level one in a two week prepatch. And Hardiness, Will of the Forsaken and Tauren Leeway are all still extremely strong for PvP. Horde also get the second world buff. True, Paladins (and Human Sword Spec) arguably make Alliance slightly stronger in Vanilla PvE, I think that evens out in TBC.
Alliance…
I wish you guys luck. I’m going horde but this is the kind of guild that should exist and be successful.
High performance meta guilds feel like a job and it’s no fun. Either way you’re going to kill the bosses most likely.
Why not kill the bosses while having fun and not being too serious? Add a few bad players that die a lot but are fun to be around and laugh about it.
To be fair, we’ll have to be better than normal at executing mechanics if we have slower kill times without WB/consumes.
Which is what I want. I never really enjoyed 20 second boss fights in Classic 2019
If you guys decide to switch to Horde lemme know.
Hearing that request a LOT.
Lotta horde out there apparently like this “no policy” on world buffs.
Bumping is against the rules.
This sounds great. Sold me on going Alliance.
Gnomes should already have sold you on Alliance!
