There used to be a game called Bards Tale - They had a class called a Bard - they would use drums, flutes, horns, etc to cast magical spells. FireHorn - breaths fire, Icehorn has frost breath. Flute of sleep can put enemy’s to sleep. They could use one handed weapons in one hand, and have an instrument in the other hand.

I’m afraid with the current focus of the game has no room for a jack-of-all trades support class. I mean, you’ve seen what they’ve done to poor Druid and Shaman, haven’t you?

though I doubt the concept would be done justice in modern wow, bard probably would’ve worked best in pre-cata era wow.

Bards as a support class would not work. That is basically shaman from wotlk. I don’t expect them to make that mistake again.
Bards if they aren’t a support class…are they really a bard then?
I don’t see any room in WoW for the traditional Bard role.

I dunno, I’m not seeing the thrill. So rather than use a wand or a staff or a handwave to cast a spell, they use a flute?
I…guess it might work. Or you could just make it the third spec for Demon Hunters.

WoW support is a healer, which would fit bards perfectly. Give them a “dirge” dps spec too and call it a day.

People keep saying oh bard wouldn’t work oh no can’t have buffs and debuffs for the party? OH NO A BUFF DEBUFF CLASS WITH SEMI DPS OHH NOO WHAT WILL WE DOO. Hi monk and dh both give magic and physical debuffs which they never should have had to begin with. Period. Druids can give mana to healers for an infinite amount for a few seconds. Combat rez. Enuff said. Heroism. Shields disc priest. Mind vision or eagle eye for vision control. So, so many things you can do. While I loathe ff14’s bard because they turned it into an archer who just sings a little. Atleast they are trying. Wow need to try harder. Nay sayers are naming cons and not pros. Next.

They can have a flute that rezes characters. A fire horn and frost horn. THese are a few items.
I vote we get the rest of the classes from the warcraft games before we go to classes never mentioned before.

It wouldn’t be that hard. A DPS class with a bunch of spells that boost others. They would just need a way to make them viable solo
