I think it would be a missed opportunity if a bard class didn’t come with housing. Likelihood? Low.
I recently browsed youtube and saw the FFXIV band performing Arthas, My son and thought that it would be an amazing addition to housing parties. One video about housing said they haven’t thought of jukeboxes, so it would be amazing if players could play themselves. Blizz is great at borrowing content so this would be it.
Also, it’s a good excuse for bards. Everyone loves them! If you disagree you lyin’

I actually don’t like Bards. The aesthetic doesn’t work for me. It just feels out of place.

Bards in warcraft would be such a vibe, especually if they do an ETC spec where you’re doing power slides and aoe death metal shreds

It feels out of place and a lil forced to me in this game universe

So would they be another buff class? Because they really handled aug evokers so well. /snort

I don’t like this.
All I need is to walk into my new home and have a stranger there waiting for me.

If bards can’t work as a dedicated class id settle for a bard profession. any class can “be” a bard in that sense, and you go out and craft arrangement notes to add to your repertoire. Maybe they craft little scroll sheets that give players a tiny morale boost for raids and stuff, and theyd go hand in hand with inscription or something.
if they do add it, it would be cool if they also added in a piano roll menu where you can arrange your own short little musical snippits for flavor.
i remember reading about how it gets kinda iffy with copyright in xiv so i dunno. but then again, a lot of people who play bard in xiv just end up botting the music part so its all automated anyway, and there’s no DRM to really stop it from happening

Dunno what Bard would bring tbh, probably better off fitting it into Rogue somehow.

I don’t want to be a chill bard that wanders the country side.
I wanna be a bard that smashes their guitar, and screams into their microphone, and bites the head off of small animals. You know, soft rock that granny listens to.

Bards are the single worst fantasy archetype, everyone hates them, nobody wants them in WoW

The thing is FFXIV’s bard is the upgrade to their version of hunter for the most part.
As much as I would like having a bard in some way I feel like it would be hard for it to not be somewhat redundant.
I still think it would work better as a spec than having to design 3 specs for it. Debatably it could work for rogue, hunter, warlock or mage.

I really like the aesthetic of bard, but do get that it might not work as a class.
Another idea, make it a profession. Have different instruments give different buffs that work in open world only. Drums for defense, guitar for attack, flute for healing buff, clarinet for speed.

Personally I rather see melee, ranged and healer.

I’d be fine with bards. But I’d also be fine with literally ANY new class right about now. (including changing augvoker to a tank, which is something that should be done)
I liked the Bard in Lost Ark, they could be like that. Or they could be… whatever-you-wanna-call-that with a hunting horn a la Monster Hunter. It could be like traditional D&D. Don’t care, I just want something new to learn.

If they do make a bard, with a ranged spec, however, I hope they go nuts with the Harp-bow nonsense that squenix does for their bard (the only bow I like in FFXIV that’s not one of those is the ARR legendary, which is just a really fancy japanese longbow). Musically-imbued arrows powered by silly looking string instrument-bow combos

I forgot to link the video!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EfDqPdz4Zog is what I meant. Imagine this in public home decorated to be sorta of an inn. I’ll put this into the original post too.
Yesssssssss. If they wanna include guns, why not keyboard guns?

It doesn’t remotely make sense to tie housing to a new class, let alone bards. At this point, you bard psychos give the tinker crowd a run for their money when it comes to trying to force a new class into an expansion that it otherwise has no business being added in.
