The problem I have with adding new classes of any type is what will they add to the resource pool so to speak.
I think Bard is one of those things that just doesn’t fit into WoW thematically. I’d rather see playable instruments ala FFXIV and GW2 as a fun side thing and have them release some other class.
Realistically the only non-joke version of a Bard would just be using some kind of magic-imbued instrument to channel their powers, ala Shamans and totems. Don’t really need another Shaman with a different aesthetic.
It’s only me? But i see that those kinds of snarky and fun comments always come from someone whose avatar it’s a Forsaken. I’m not complaining, actually i love to read this things in the forum.
The problem with a Beard class is the constant grooming you have to do to maintain its shape. It can also get itchy.
Ill pass on bard and tinkers all i want is some dark rangers for forsaken and belfs both undead and alive and a few other differnt named versions of it for other races
LOL what? Have you not seen or played Warcraft 3?

Haha, the classic outcry of “I want to do equal damage to dps and equal healing to healers!” Even though they are providing massively advantageous buffs that MORE than compensate for their reduced output.
I think one of the biggest issues with WoW is they don’t like limits on classes. So a class that could potentially be limited to “one per raid” doesn’t really fit with their design.
Yes.
I would kill for a Bard Class. Need something New and Original in Classes that is fun and Fresh.
could i play the class without doing a long and tedious rep grind first, then have to do a equally tedious quest chain after the rep grind?
You’ve never truly known terror until you heard someone who can’t sing worth crap try singing the worst songs imaginable. Trust me, you do want such horrors.
flashes back to time when someone tried singing Backstreet Boys so terribly

Does sound cool but I would rather them attempt to fix the classes and specs they already have.
it is a novel idea, but i can’t imagine it finding any footing in the WoW universe.
There is of course the Elite Tauren Chieftan, but it would be a hefty task to integrate it into an expansion
Bards are in Everquest and Everquest 2. Bard is a popular class in Everquest 1 to group with. Plate class with duel wield. Songs do a little bit of everything. Mainly a support class though with buffs, regen, etc.
Add a utility class at this point seems foolish. “Fix bard DPS” posts would overwhelm GD.
Honestly, I think we need a utility class at this point. There are plenty of choices to play a pure dps, pure healer, or pure tank. People need to suck it up and play it or not… I think a lot of players would really enjoy that playstyle.
Bards naturally lend themselves to be a “support class”.
… and support classes don’t work in WoW, there’s too much focus on throughput.
While I wouldn’t call this statement inaccurate… again, the problem here is that game isn’t structured to have support classes in it.
We kind of did with initial concepts of Shadow Priests, Paladins, and Shaman. Shadow Priest who were literally mana battery utility and the others being “true” hybrids with raid buffs.
Apparently people didn’t like providing their team with benefits and instead wanted it for themselves.
Unfortunately whilst a lot of us would like it to happen, Blizzard isn’t really in a state where they would be willing to use resources for a niche player base.
Survey says… Y E S!
this.
how does a utility class fit into the trinity?
no one would want a bard if they do subpar dps, and if they do on par dps AND bring buffs, they’d be mandatory.
Blizz has never figured out how to do a utility class. All they need to do is provide enough of their dps + dps boosts to their fellow party members to be on par with the rest of the dps (same with a healing spec). I’m sure the dps meters could parse for this.
