i know its a hard pill to swallow, but wow is not about pvp and never has been. but it is a fantasy mmo for the player to dive into and enjoy. even mmos that are more centered around pvp have stuff like this.
and this is the problem with people in general, and shows here as well. people just think in extremes. if u add 1 add it all! who cares right? wrong. what stops them from adding more drastic changes down the road? idk how about not changing anything that can directly effect how good or bad a class is. its not that hard. a barbershop will not make me go up on the meters. unless ur distracted by my luscious hair and i pass you
The thing is that vanilla is actually one of the best pvp games on the market.
It was born from wc3 which was very competitive pvp game. Dota was also birth from the same.
WoW stops being a pvp game over the years because the pve players pushed away the pvp players by asking for changes that are bad for pvp. Like destroying the visual of items in favor of playing dress up or the removal of pvp servers altogether.
pvp players had plenty of other games so they left. But vanilla came back in 2019 and was still a top tier pvp game.
They are unable to do proper phasing or manage bots - adding a totally frivolous feature isnât at the top of my list. Esp when that feature is often tied with players that want transmog, which does break pvp.
You know what is available - rolling a new toon with the hairstyle you like.
no the company wanted to take it a certain way. in mmos pve is always going to be the main focus and main attraction, pvp is just a passenger. look at new world, the game did a compete 180.
it is a known fact vanilla is terrible for pvp. stop coping it was nostalgia

Part of the game is character creation, and you get 1 shot at that per character; its a game rule that anyone playing Classic already knows and has known for 20 years.

Its purely minor cosmetic so I dont see why not allow the barbershop to exist in Classic Era.
Btw you didnt need to stick with the character you hastily made to reserve your name. Once you have the name there, you have a grace period that sticks even when you delete that character.
So you could just quickly make the character with the name you want, delete it and then remake the character again taking your sweet time with customizing their appearance without worry of the name being taken
