It wouldn’t, people are just obtuse about it.
To be honest, I used to be all-in on the no changes thing but a this point it doesn’t matter anymore. Bring in Transmo, barbershop, updated character models, I don’t care. The core gameplay loop of Classic remains more or less intact and that’s all that really matters.

I strongly support this change. I would love a barbershop, and if others agree, I’d welcome the expanded appearance customisation options we received in WotLK. Classic currently offers very limited variation in character appearances.
This why I was extremely careful when making my character to make sure I liked everything about it. I would create the character, look at it in game closely and delete then remake it again if I didn’t like it to the point where I memorised the number of hair/skin colours until I knew which one I was after. Then I realised I hated playing Orc compared to Undead and missed the racials too much and re-rolled and lost a few days of /played.
Race change isn’t the same as barbershop but they both make the game a bit more bearable if people want to change something about their character, but considering Blizz didn’t introduce race change in Classic until Classic Wrath then I cut my losses and rerolled. I think originally Race Change was implemented in Wrath too.
It would be a nice change but it’s Blizzard, you either go by their terms or you rack off, that’s how they work.
I agree! I was initially on board with the no changes in classic, but after playing SoM, SoD, HC and now these anniversary realms, I’d be fine with everything you mentioned! I’m fine with cosmetic changes

A billion? That number hasn’t been reached with every single game ever created combining every player who has ever logged into any MMO. Ever. Please don’t steer Vanilla away from what it’s not, especially when you don’t understand what makes a game so great. There are other options out there for you. Vanilla is not for you if you want these changes.
