The new Ascendance model is what we in Australia refer to as a “Prawn”, remove the head and it’s all good.
The head/hair model isn’t good.
So happy it’s getting updated, the body is fine the head and hair I think totally missed the mark.
I also noticed the Water Ascendance is female, hopefully they have both male and female models for Ascendance as it would be weird I change genders mid fight.
Yeah I agree, I feel like it would be getting a lot less hate if instead of hair it was just a violently moving mass of the respective element (a blob of water for resto, a fire ball for ele, and a bunch of smoke/wind for enhance)
I mentioned it elsewhere, but I think giving them themed animal heads per element would be a nice, relatively easy fix. Wouldn’t exactly be my ideal ascendance form, but would make them more visually distinct and we have examples of elements taking animalistic forms, so
Hopefully they give us a glyph to not be Marge Simpson.
I think the head looks Androgynous so that it could work for both male and female characters.
It may be that the female water Ascendant we’ve seen hardcoded as 1 of the 3 forms.
Alternatively, based on the gender of your character, the body type will be male or female, with the particle effects to match the element. So what we saw may have been the male and female models of the Ascendant form.
We’ll have to wait and see.

I kind of wish they made the hair bigger and flow back so I could be air ascendant radahn. Also I’d love for the model to be thicker too.
