Bans for the naked

Nope. This is a legitimate thing. It’s a ban that lasts long enough that you will have a full week of not gaining honor as the penalty for gaining honor while AFK.

This isn’t a new thing either. It’s just that now since people are trying to encourage others to lose BGs, a lot more people are facing the penalty, but this has been the case for quite a while, as far as I know.

I’ve had friends/guildies, etc. who have had 8 day bans months, and months ago for non-participation. A quick Google will return some forum results.

I don’t condone AFKing and my thread is to fix it. Blizzard is the one condoning this type of behavior and the reason why it exist. It was their poor planning and bugs that caused the AFK Meta. This is 100% Blizzards fault and I have been clear about that.

It’s not about defending anyone. It’s about fixing the problem that is causing it. I am about solutions to improve the game. You obviously aren’t.

If someone is starving and they steal food to eat, I don’t blame them for stealing food. The problem is they are hungry! If someone is AFKing because they need an abundance of honor/marks through all the bugs in a short Prepatch. I don’t blame them! Blizzard created the problem. We need to focus on fixing the problems. Feed people that are hungry so they don’t steal, fix Honor and the game so people don’t AFK. It’s not complicated.

AFKing is a symptom of the problem…Fix the problem you fix AFKing. Basic logic 101.

They were banning people for afk leeching in av in classic. Why wouldn’t they ban whole premades?

Wait, so horde are reporting the alliance for giving them the win? I don’t even remember this being in the ToS. I understand it’s not how the game is supposed to be played, but I will say it’s nice getting a free AB win after sitting in queue for 15 minutes.

There are other ways to implement a fix to this. Put a damage time limit to prevent AFKers. A flat out 7 day ban is a little extreme for players who didn’t even know it was against the rules. Nonetheless, I’m all for Blizzard adding this to the ToS, but at least tell the players.

Of course it’s against the rules and I’m glad they are getting banned. You’re denying you’re opponents of an actual game after a 15 minute queue, that’s not fun.

Horde respect and enjoy a good fight. I know it’s hard for ally to understand that. But there’s no point in the hunt if the Prey gives up.

Afking is non participation which has always been an actionable offense. The players doing that just wanted X reward an felt safe because so many others were doing it. Learned the hard way that isn’t the case.

Just because I can understand the why doesn’t change the fact it is against the rules therefore any action taken against them is still legitimate.

Like the terrible stealing food analogy from earlier… its incredibly naive thinking “we’ll stop people stealing by just giving them what they want!”

Can tell you first hand having worked at a grocery store before that those 25 dollar steaks and 40 dollar bag of crab legs weren’t needed because you were starving. But let’s be real theres no logic to such a stupid analogy. People afk regardless and have always done so because some people take the path of least resistance regardless if its legal or not. That’s the simple truth.

Premade afk squads sounds like a new meta to me. Don’t see why Blizzard needs to regulate this while they give boosting and GDKPs a pass.

Because unlike boosting and GDKP’s, it directly and negatively effects those that are trying to play the game as designed. Even people that are getting the win are complaining about it because they want to paly the game. Does it even feel good to get gear that you do nothing for?

Pugs complaining about getting free wins off premades sounds like the supreme height of counter productiveness to me. You people will cry about literally anything lmao.

I’m pretty sure majority of players are trying to get their 100 marks for 70, or trying to get the r14 set. You know how rare it is to be queued into an AFK premade? On my Earthfury horde character, it was once every 7-8 matches. I’ll take a 3 minute win for the reward lol. I’ll have fun the next game.

For me on Grob i seen them about every other game. I hated it myself, i mean i get it. One or two time a day it’s not a big deal. But i grinded warlord for a reason. Not for the gear. Being a Bloodthirsty Butcher is part of the RP, you ally WHILE yea i get you’re all school girls who cower in fear from me. It just rubs me the wrong way when the cower is so overplayed.

I know i’ll carve ya in two but, can’t ya give me a little scream?

Dude I’m telling you. People will complain about someone giving them 1kg because they didn’t earn it. I’ve seen constant complaints about people getting stomped on by premades, but never in my days would I have ever see a complaint about a free win. There are more serious issues to deal with rather than someone not having fun because the other team let them win.

That’s not rare.

The last word qualifies the statement, nullifying the entirety of it.

Because a losing premade is essentially win trading.
It is also non-participation.
It is also AFKing.
It is also griefing, when randoms queue in with the premade to find out their game is rigged.
And when a premade is reporting a random player because they are actively playing and slowing the game’s conclusion…they are false reporting.

All 6 of these are bannable and they are usually 5 or 6 of them at the same time. Be lucky its such a short ban because something like this has the potential to kill a lesser MMO.

I would conjecture it’s not the pugs winning who are complaining, but those who are joining a game with a premade on their team choosing to lose.

And then potentially getting reported afk for trying…

Too long of bans Makes it even worse for the horde and people playing legitimately having 20+ minute queues now vs the 8 we had previously grinding honor and everything in this joke of a pre-patch is a joke

I fully support such actions. Keep it coming, Blizzard!

If you are the one having your food stolen you will begin blaming them for stealing food. It may take you a while as you don’t see the problem, but you’ll eventually get there. There are many ways to address hunger and the hungry one is the one responsible for addressing it. It’s the only way life together is possible without becoming a nightmare. You were making a good point but with a bad analogy.

I strongly believe most of the people banned were not in full premades and instead were going into ab with 12 or 13 people, or wsg with 8 or 9
