I want to create a macro using my mouse that allows me to click a side button and activate desperate prayer (a self healing ability) and healthstone (lock cookies) at the same time. Is this allowed?
Yes, it is allowed to bind something off of the GCD with something on it. I wouldn’t really recommend doing so though unless it is a separate binding from your other healthstone/desperate prayer bindings.
There will definitely be times you want to use one and not the other.
I don’t think you can actually make a bannable macro. To do that you’d probably need to use special input software, which in itself is not allowed.
Completely allowed.
There really aren’t any bannable macros, if it lets you do it, it’s allowed.
its only bannable if you somehow tamper with the software to create it.
there’s been some pretty wild ones. There is(was?) one that froze your character in their current position for a chosen amount of time. You could set it to for example your fel rush CD and essentially fly.
I’ve had a similar macro for over a decade. The only thing bannable about it is if I actually wrote the full name in forum: “oh s***”
Type /use itemname
for items and /cast spellname
for spells. Use a new line for each. Don’t forget other potions and such. Shift clicking from your inventory or spellbook can make it easy.
- You can’t make one within the game that can get you banned.
- You can make one outside the game using mouse software or other software that cna get you in trouble.
Automating things outside what the game allows will get you in trouble.
If you want a macro like that, make it inside the game, set an icon for it, then set it to your button. I have kick keybound to my mouse button.
If you can’t do it with the in-game macro maker, don’t do it.
That’s fine, you just bind the mousebutton to an unused combo and set that as the keybind for the spells
