Back when I was 14 yrs old in vanilla starting as a NE druid, I remember getting so lost in that lowbie cave and dying to all those bears all the time there was NO place to rez without aggroing at least 2 of them and as a long druid just learning the game thats way too much. I returned to it now as a veteran player and it’s just as awful as I remember it. I rez, I die, the trinket never drops from the shamans, and every time Im about to kill one it runs away in fear while another shaman heals it while it goes yell for its buddies.
It is, by far, the most memorable noob trap in the history of WoW for me.

Yeah, it is awful trying to solo it. I don’t think I have ever finished that quest.
It’s genrally ok at the moment because it is full of people and it doesn’t hurt that running dozens of alts through the retail version let’s you know exaxtly where the Relics are. But it’s insane it isn’t listed as a group quest. I have no idea how a level 10 person in there alone could survive without meticulously careful steps.

The problem is the respawns. They are insanely quick and often barely even give enough time to loot the chests. That and the fact that you often have to kill 20+ Shamans to get the charm for the other quest.
YES! The respawns are ridiculous. You have no room to go anywhere without getting attacked and when they run away in fear theres always more nearby to be attracted.
I’ll hand it to Classic, even the pain is authentic to its vanilla iteration.
I died like 20 times doing the quests in Skull Rock it was glorious!

I have 2 Night Elves I started and both are pretending they don’t have that quest. Maybe I will go back at a higher level and take some lowbies with me. Or maybe not. That quest sucks bad enough in the watered down retail version. It scared me in CATA when it looked like it was going to be the same thing for level 80’s there in Hyjal, but turned out to be the other layout that has a similar entrance, thank the light.
By your thread title I’d think you were still 14.
On my NE warrior I pretty much just relied on other people being there too, which they were. It was worth it as I got a green sword from the Ghost guy in there, which doubled my dps.
The main problem i always see is people go there too early a lvl. If you basically save that chain for last it’s easy peasy because youre level 10 and dont pull everything in sight.

Dude so agree, died twice in that hellhole and dropped the quest. Brutal in there lol.
Just gotta wait till you get your bear form as a druid and you can walk through it- but yea I remeber that place sucking more a$$ than any other noob area, including the murloc hovels by the logging camp in elwynn.
