The quest isn’t required as far as I am aware.

At least the event was clickable and usable prior to my main character doing either of the quests.

3 Bosses, each get a portal. Each location has a Daily that you can accept which is to kill the boss. You can either sit and wait at the boss when the event starts or participate in the various mini-events for extra currency.
The event was patched yesterday so it requires much less work, and you don’t need an army of alts to farm a quarter of the currency.

collect 20 memories from each of the 3 events, one for each zone.

Took me doing the event in each zone three times each, but YMMV

Combine the memories together. DO NOT PUT THE MEMORIES IN YOUR WARBANK (see the bug report section of the forums as to why)

Buy the ring for 25 currency. Combine with the 3 combined memories.

The same issue happens if they are in your inventory btw.

They are Unique (20)
so if you have 18, and you kill a boss and it drops 5, they will be mailed to you and you won’t be able to pick them up at all until you delete 3.

It will cost about 10,000 gold to upgrade the ring from level 49 to level 69. You will have to buy the last two 5,000 gold upgrades unless you happen to have an alternative currency available. I expect when we can go to level 80, people will need to purchase the next level up or just start swapping to leveling gear from 70-80.

You upgrade it the same way you would any other loom. Takes the lv60 and Lv70 armor casings.

Nah, you don’t need to do the Harbinger or the Radiant Song quests to participate in the actual event. Those are just for story.

It’s Dustwallow Marsh, not Swamp of Sorrows. Both are swamps, though, so honest mistake :dracthyr_nod:

Pretty sure all the upgrades are purchasable with timewarped badges during timewalking weeks. That’s what I always hold out for. Feels like TW is every other week these days.

Hence why I added the “unless you happen to have alternative currency available.” Me, I never have the alternative currency, but I usually have the spare gold, so dropping 3.1m gold during Dragon Flight while hurt was easier. Now had I not taken a 9-year hiatus between 2011-2020 then I wouldn’t have dropped so much gold as I’d upgraded much more slowly.

The other thing with the ring is that it’s actually a huge get as heritage gear goes; it’s easy enough to get weapons, armor, necks, cloaks and trinkets, but rings are comparatively obtuse and hard to come by with the only ones I’m imediately familiar with coming from either fishing or the WoD fleet mission board and the ring itself is statted for both haste and mastery with an intial cap of level 39.

Definitley something you’re going to want for alt purposes.

I saw what you wrote, and I know buying gold is pretty common, but I wanted to counter all the gold talk since a lot of people have the timewarped badges to save on gold.

Excuse me for being dense. I spent over an hour and cant seem to find a vendor that sells tokens to upgrade rings. I haven’t played since BFA so i am not sure if there is a new method. Also i can’t find out where to buy a second Band of Radiant Echoes for my other toon now that i have the first. I can’t even buy a second stone ring from the event vendor as it disappeared after i made the first one. Thank for anyone that can clear this up.

Depends on which currency you want to use. Many of the holiday event vendors sell the tokens, as do the Timewalking and Darkmoon Faire event vendors.

If you want to just use gold, the Alliance’s heirloom vendor is in Ironforge:

Rings use the Armor Casting token.

As for buying a second ring, you can’t. Once you’ve collected the ring by converting the items together, it’s added to your Heirloom collection (Collections > Heirlooms). You just open that on the toon you want, click the Heirloom, and it’s added to your bags.

AHHH! Thank you so much! I haven’t used heirlooms in a long while and they moved it from shift-p to collections. Been a while as I mentioned. lol. And thanks for telling me the armor casing will do it. I read the list and it didn’t say anything about rings, so I got confused and also dont want to waste gold. Again thanks.

To add to this, the Horde vendor is in Orgrimmar on top of the wall. When you come out of the portal room, it’s a forsaken on the wall above you.

Yeah, or you can use the Bronze dragon lady to get to pre-BFA Undercity and the vendor is in the Rogue’s Quarter. With Blizzard’s broken phasing, sometimes you have to bounce around to figure out which you’re in

Getting to pre-BFA UC is a lot more of a hassle than just going to the top of the Orgrimmar wall though.

It is, but sometimes the phasing gets borked and I didn’t have a choice in the matter

Can someone confirm that this new heirloom ring can be equipped in one ring slot while a garrison shipyard ring is equipped in the other ring slot? I never got the Stranglethorn fishing derby ring and i would actually play prepatch if it allows me to finally equip a second heirloom ring.

Yes. This is what I have on an alt. Can see it in her armory.
