Ban Single Word Names On RP Realms at Character Creation

I probably wouldn’t report it – could be a nickname. Like Florabella ‘Cacophony’ Gladeroot, or something along those lines.

That guild name though…

Yeaaaaah, I’m not the OP. >.>

Heh, yeah, i got confused. Sorry about that. You’re both DHs. =P

Anyway, I don’t think the OP will be able to answer w/o either saying it’s not RP enough (which is too rigid) or that it is RP enough which kills his suggestion.

Oh my goodness, those official names…although the Walmart ones are a little better, heh.

I agree!

True (at least for future characters, kind of hard to do on first character when stuck on character creation), but anyways, all good, I’m content with my current one.

I don’t care about your argument.

Is your name on the Merriam Webster?

There’s your answer.

There’s a random name generator should you need one. Unless you’d rather pretend to be too cool for an RP name, then there’s Non-RP realms waiting for you.

In the thread I linked the name Bakuuganx was generated from the random name generator.

I got a troll random name Urugurutaz like wha??

What’s this bs against the Webster dictionary

Reductio ad Absurdum from a player with a scene kid name from a guild name that checks out.

Until recently I didn’t know there was a RP name rule. I guess mine’s ok because a GM was working on something for me a few years back and complimented me on my name choice. To me it sounds a little “elf-y”.

Also, OP’s name, it’s the name of a drug, FYI.

Hypocrite, burn him.

I agree with this. People need to learn to be creative with actual names, instead of a bunch of “x’s” or random slang and words.

That’s not Reductio ad Absurdum. Reductio ad Absurdum is an attempt to argue that one thing must be true because the alternative is ridiculous.

You want real words to be prohibited and fall back on the random name generator, which, in rare cases, generates names that would be prohibited on RP realms and cause account actions if reported.

Your solution is a non-solution for those so affected, and your suggestion is unnecessarily restrictive.

No, Leodrinn is derived from Goldrinn, it is not on the Merriam Webster, and it is not in an RP server.

Yet according to OP, xxValandriaxx would be perfectly acceptable as it does not contain any dictionary terms.

I’m sorry, how does your first sentence support your second sentence again?

Your name is legit the name of a drug you could get on the shelf at Walmart.

It does. Because reasons.

No, that would not be acceptable.

But it would not be blacklisted at name creation.

I am proposing a dictionary based single word blacklist.

You are the one trying to fix the problem wholsale at name creation.
