It’s people like you he’s complaining about. Keep up the good work.
I like putting a training dummy next to rp players and go through my rotation.
As a roleplayer? Stop it. This is a nonsense request. Some people name themselves their IC nickname for goodness sakes. This is getting ridiculous and the reason why roleplayers aren’t ever taken seriously.
So thanks for that./s
Stop trying to control how other people play. You elitists are annoying.
I agree with this, I RP from time to time on my other lower level’d toons because well this character isn’t on an RP server. I agree though that a lot of the supposed RP names are probably names certain races wouldn’t use so certain names could be a violation as well RP wise for races names.
It’s typically not an issue because the people with obvious non-RP names aren’t hanging out in RP hubs or guilds.
But every once in awhile, rarely, I’ll see one that’s just a bit -too- “2007 Xbox Gamertag” or memey in general and report it.
That, and sometimes folks use stupid names under the impression it doesn’t matter because RPers use things like MRP / TRP anyway. The floating name thing takes like 2 additional addons/extensions and is TRP-specific, and also is kinda fugly so I don’t like it much and it’s not something you can assume everyone is using. EDIT: See, people like Gro down there. The Chat Log isn’t the only thing that matters. (Not that her name is an issue)
FWIW, OP’s suggestion isn’t realistic and some people get a little too report-happy for names that could be explained away as nicknames.
That’s ridiculous. Some fictional characters have code names which are words in a dictionary.
For those of you who don’t play on Roleplay servers, this post is completely irrelevant. A vast majority of roleplayers all play with a mod that changes the name of your character to whatever you please. It affects chat logs as well so it looks like your character said it. I can change my character name to “Grand Space Admiral Commander Gro the Yeeter” and people would have to read it everytime I interacted with them.
I don’t know what this guy is going on about.
You could report them but Blizzard hasn’t enforced the RP Naming Guidelines for over a decade.
I don’t think this is a good idea – it’d catch too many legit names.
My Rogue’s name, for example, appears to be a combination of two words - Regal Lion.
But it’s Regallion. It’s pronounced ‘ruh-gal-ee-on’, not ‘ree-guhl-lie-uhn’.
I’m all for RP realms having their own naming rules, but trying to get an algorithm to filter them just doesn’t allow for enough flexibility, IMO.
I think the OP has gone off to another alt to troll on. Personally, I agree with you.
According to him compound words are okay - so while Stupid and Jerk would not be acceptable as names - Stupidjerk would be, according to his ‘fixed’ system.
I believe that the word “in” is in the dictionary, therefore your name is ruining the RP community
Yeah, and whether it is or not, even worse, so is “inn.”
If that isn’t a shot across Moonguard’s bow, I don’t know what is.
The stereotypes and rumors are too about moonguard. I was just questing with my LF Draenei in moonguard and got offered lots of gold to dance or do other acts. Last time I ever went to goldshire I either stick to Stormwind or questing some where else lol.
NEVER visit Goldshire on Moon Guard. NEVER. EVER.
How did that topic become relevant?
I never will again trust me lol. My friend got sucked into that type of work I should say to be polite lol. At first she thought it was funny but she became obsessed with doing it to the point I could open my friends list and about 97% of the time she was in goldshire dancing or doing other stuff.
Additionally, people will just use those alternate characters to get around it and who wants to type more of those.
Is Regallion on the Merriam Webster?
Did I ever mention combinations of words?
So I’d be flagged then if I were on a RP realm? I’d argue my name is very RP friendly.
