I saw another post where people are asking about their character creation date. I’m not sure if it will have my actual original date since I’ve transferred my main around a lot as I used to be recruited in world top raiding guilds back-in-a-day, but if possible, are you able to provide me with my Undead Warlock’s creation date? It should be around November 2004 (I think I was in BETA if I recall correctly so it might be earlier, but I can’t remember if it let me carry that character account through).
In the event they don’t overturn the ban, I would like to put a little RIP [creation date] - November 10, 2024 on my 3D model of her.
You seriously need to stop spreading misinformation around ticket replies and also not troll the forums. There is no bots. There is no AI. Sometimes there is an automatic response if the ticket queue times are high, but every response is by a human at the other end, and they use templates for their responses for better communication and understanding between them and us.
Dude, I would stop being shocked. These kind of macros are EXTREMELY annoying to people and nobody thinks they’re clever, funny, cool or whatever.
I would highly recommend you get rid of these macros or you will be reported again. Personally, I always report for spam someone that has a macro tied to their abilities.
I’ve flagged your post because I found it to be trolling, in which I do have every right in order to do so. If you disagree with the flag, well, nothing can be done until moderator reviews it, which either action will be taken if in breach of the Forum Code of Conduct or it will be restored.
Also
There is no mass reporting. Each one of us can only flag a post once. We can’t “mass flag” a post. Seriously…
I love how you think buying Blizzard games for a long time makes you above the law. You broke the rules, that comes with consequences.
This clearly isn’t the first time, a permanent ban is a last resort in a long series of increasingly severe punishment escalations for a repeat offender.
If they really wanted your money, they wouldn’t be banning anyone at all, and the game would be a landmine of profanity and graft where people could say and do anything. NO THANKS that is not a game I want to play.
A few of you have made the notion that being a long time customer makes me think I’m “above the law.” That’s not the case. The reason I pointed that out is because the decision to ban a long-time account over a role-playing macro or an undirected “F bomb” seems extreme. They are deleting twenty years of history because a few people disliked a macro in a Solo Shuffle lobby or that an “F bomb” was dropped in it, when it wasn’t even used as an insult. Again, I could fully understand the decision to ban an account if there was extremely egregious behavior.
Also, it seems this needs clarity since a few posters think there is a “long series of increasingly severe punishment escalations for repeat offender[s].” As I mentioned, I was in a bad place November 2022 when I lost my close friend to suicide and became angry at the world. I was explosive in chat so I received a 7 day silence at the time. When I returned, I was still angry at the world the week later (and was for a long time to be honest) and was still not a kind person in-game, so I received a 30 day suspension. I understand those actions as I was extremely irritable and volatile towards people in-chat as I was not in a good place.
Now the next cause of action was an account ban over apparently a macro or an undirected “F Bomb” two years later.
Hope this provides some insight to posters who think I’m just some perpetual offender who received constant reprimands and sanctions for an extended amount of time.
To jump off what Kozzae said: Your reasoning for your actions isn’t a factor - Blizzard doesn’t take what happened to your real life when they handle tickets/appeals. Its a black/white results - Did X broke the given rule? If yes, apply action to the account. If no, don’t apply any account actions and the person wouldn’t know they was looked at.
We’re all expected to follow the same rules, and that’s what makes things fair for everyone. If we start making exceptions for one person’s story, it’ll just lead to confusion and frustration for others—everyone will wonder why their situation isn’t being treated the same way.
As long as you stick to the rules and don’t break them, you won’t have to worry about any account actions if you get reported. There’s no such thing as “accidental swearing”—we make a conscious choice with every word we type and hit enter on.
No, it was a result of a documented pattern of behavior. Behavior that is specifically and explicitly in opposition to the EULA and Code of Conduct. The rationale or context of past transgressions is irrelevant. You didn’t just ‘blurt out’ inappropriate chat; you consciously and intentionally typed it out, then likewise purposefully hit that ‘SEND’ button. Your state of mind isn’t a factor.
And they’d be doing exactly the same thing if it was a brand new account.
Thing is after you getting a 30 day suspension the writing was on the wall and another offense could and would lead to a perm a ban! To get to this point you had to be actioned a bunch of times. If you did not learn by this point I doubt you ever will. Mean while some of us manage to play for nearly 20 years and never ever get any kind of chat violation.
You just come across like you should have more chances and afraid you might be out of them and out of luck. You can always open a new License on your bnet account, that will let you have all your achievments, mounts and pets. Just not the characters you had are gone.
