Ban Raider IO Part 2

The huge controversy behind Raider IO … I think it should be banned because I cannot get into any progression groups without someone looking me up and rejecting me. I’m 427 (currently) and been rejected like 5 times. I’ve been told to make my own, but I’ve tried that and no one seems to join it so I just join someone elses for faster queues. I don’t wanna hide my character either. I wish Raider IO could be banned as I don’t want to be listed or affiliated on that website… Petition to have Raider IO illegal or banned from the game.

Can’t perform? Don’t complain. It’s like complaining about MMR in Dota

RaiderIO isn’t part of the game, it’s just collecting the data Blizzard openly provides. In order to stop it’s functionality, Blizzard would have to alter API data which would affect many other things as well.

I’m a human, you’re the troll.

As much as I hate the elitist mentality, it’s tough to blame the players who use it.

There has always been gatekeeping to an extent. It used to be gear, but now gear is worthless since everybody can get raid-level gear without stepping foot in a raid.

@Konkka again, continue to harass my post and i’ll report you for doing so which is against TOS Rules of conduct…

Press X to doubt.

I didn’t harass your post. Just said Raiderio is just an extraneous MMR that uses Blizzard’s public data.

Besides, I already paid the troll toll.

@Konkka yes you did harass my post by name calling me. I have the screen shot dude… Wanna try again?

You’re definitely a troll.

This guy is trolling, you can see edits and he didn’t even edit his post.

Raider IO is fine.

People like the OP need to keep in mind it’s not gatekeeping just because they’re feeling like being a jerk. Elitism isn’t bad, as long as players aren’t being jerks about it.

Players are free to choose who they want to invite to their group, that’s fine. I’ve been declined from groups, it sucks, but it is what it is. Raider.io is not perfect, but it does the job.

You expect gearscore to get you invited? With MDI, and how M+ works, not taking the time to build your IO is your fault. People will continue to take someone with an IO (Since most already have high gearscore) over you because you dont want to show them you are a competent player capable of performing your role.

throw high keys into this and every reply afterward is redundant.

This is why IO is a necessary evil.

I’m like 445 and I still get rejected more than that, depending on what I sign up for. Having a bunch of people sign up for a key, most are going to choose the player that gives the group a better chance of success, someone with a higher ilvl or higher io, or a particular class or spec they want.

If io wasn’t a thing, nothing would be stopping people from using some other metric to eyeball your character by. A peek at the armory would tell them just about the same information.

Your io is pretty low, mostly because you have three instances without any score at all. Go run Shrine, Temple and Siege to get it up a bit, you may have a little easier time getting an invite after that. Or, make your own groups.

Was it seriously necessary to make a part two for this?

Uh. I think illegal means it has to break a law, yeah?

Also, there are options available to you:
Use your key
Run with guildies/friends
Find a dedicated group

For those people who are using their own key they should have the opportunity to vet someones experience.

  1. This didn’t need a part 2, this is spam.
  2. There is no real controversy over raider.io. Some people not liking it doesn’t make it controversial.
  3. If you’re dps you’re going to be declined much more than 5 times, and it won’t have anything to do woth raider.io.
  4. Your ilvl means nothing as anyone can get to 415-430 at least without doing more than 4 world quests a day, weekly events, and the occasional war front.
  5. You have only timed 3 dungeons this season and haven’t even run every dungeon in a key. Not to mention you have run in 2 different roles, so not even every dungeon you timed or ran were under the same role.

to add on to this… People have got to realize just playing DPS in most cases never works to your advantage.

The instant I post a key I get absolutely bombarded with DPS. Im always going to take what’s best for the group comp with the highest IO score, even if their ilevel is lower as we now have systems in place that give anyone the potential to have a high ilevel irrespective of their skill/experience level.

As a healer with a low IO score I have zero issues finding groups extremely quickly.
