Link every account to a government issued ID its not like they dont already have your information already. Your account has your name with a list of other information already. If your not cheating you really dont have anything to worry about. Plus theyre owned by microsoft you really dont think they cant get this information?
Paypal requires you to prove who you are.
Blizz should do the same considering the “value” our accounts have(People try to steal them).
It would not be unreasonable for them to require a picture of your Driver’s License or other Picture ID and then permaban you for cheating and never let you open another account.(Barring an appeal).

The reality is that GDKP bans on SoD where implemented for over a year, and they are now being extended to new servers. It appears that Blizzard has reached a decision, and their experiment has been successful. The data received has led to the conclusion that the GDKP ban is more beneficial for the game than permitting its return.
As much as I hate GDKP, this is not the reason. Blizzard has absolutely no concern for the “benefits of the game”. Blizzard made this decision because they believe it will earn them more money. Even if a decision increased the amount of RMT in the game, they would still make whichever decision earns the most money for the least amount of effort.

such hard working farmers these gdkp players are. Love the determination to farm gold so they can bid 100k a week for items. On the other hand, their argument is ‘we don’t have enough time that’s why we like gdkp raids with no set schedule’.

You don’t have to farm gold because you go to the gdkp every week you dense… The video you linked is from ToGC, after 6 months of farming Ulduar how much gold do you think you’d have from doing 6 months of ulduar on 3+ characters? Lets ignore the literal years of GDKP these players likely have been doing leading up to this btw. Lets also ignore that anyone with this much gold in their pockets also likely has profession alts that could be pumping out titansteel or other rare crafts for hundreds of gold each.

I had one character that I did gdkp’s on very rarely, less than 10 runs across all of classic from vanilla->cata, the gold I made in those runs far exceeded any farming I could ever do as a solo warrior.
Whatever you have to keep telling yourself and others about GDKP to help you sleep better at night, buddy.
As long as you brainlets refuse to be realistic and just call everyone that gdkp’s a gold buyer/seller I’ll call you guys out in return.
4 years of GDKP’s, with character boosts being added starting with TBC, you don’t think the freaks who play this game every single day all day wouldn’t just have a legion of characters to GDKP on to farm gold so they can do that?
R1 players sell glad boosts and then also go to GDKP’s, how much gold do you think they make doing that?

Now what people in favor of GDKP want, or at least what I would want, is an RMT free world with GDKP. And for that Blizzard needs to actually do something real.

This is the only fair loot system one can get now as a casual player. Get in a guild? yes, but legendaries are always HR’d. Also without GDKPs, there’s literally 0 motivation for BIS players to continue playing. They will quit or start new toons, which is not sustainable considering ERA is same expansion forever.
Yes, there are gold buyers. But for ERA it doesn’t matter if one progresses faster than the other as long as everyone is rewarded in some way. From what i know, most people attending gdkps can get their gears and consumables expenses covered at some point. Gold buyers pay hefty fees just to be ahead of everyone for couple months, which is fair.
If really you want to ban RMT, then you should ban gold buyers instead. It’s that simple.
Well considering these posts have been around for over a year and ALOT of them have been removed because they are well a violation of the ToS for posting about something that is not allowed in the game.
Then blizz decided after GDKP ban on SoD was great to REINFORCE this on the new fresh servers, I doubt that blizz will revert this decision.
Lol fair? If RMT was so so rampat in the game i would agree but people can easily just Swipe the plastic and get gold and P2W there way to full BiS. That is not FAIR to the player that doesn’t swipe.
Both should be perma banned yes not one or the other.
But its not because Gold sellers will just make new accounts to bot and farm gold and it doesnt really cost them anything this is factored into the overhead where a player isnt doing this for a job or paycheck they are doing it for fun. Blizz needs to perma ban everyone who RMT/bots but the perma ban needs to be linked a person/IPaddress/Mac address or better yet a GOVERMENT ISSUED ID That is how you impact the bots RMT in a massive manor perma ban the Goverment Issued ID. Not like blizz doesnt have access to this info anyway.
